Okay I have a hard time getting these hrc-450r's off the line. I definatly without a doubt have them on top end, but by the time I start comming around them the race is over. I have to baby it off the line if not I will be on my back. They can just ride their wheelies out, which gives them the advantage there. Should I lower the front or the back, or both & how much. I have an adjustable timing plate but it is set to "0". I'm already having trouble off the line no need to advance it.

I just read your mods and I found the problem. All you have to do is burn those raptor plastics and you'll smoke the 450's. J/k, you should beat them with your mods. Your best bet is to buy an extended swingarm so you can launch harder. Any pics of the shee

Are you leaning all the way forward and riding out the clutch? Even when my Banshee had pipes, filter, reeds and a clean up port done myself I would pop her up to far and end up loosing the race. And as NJBanshee said, some sort of extended swing arm would help you out a lot.

As soon as I can find some decent looking banshee plastics that acually look good I will switch back. I tried in 2nd all I do is bog. We still rid the trails alot and down in the sand pits so I don't really want to get a extended swingarm. Just wandering if lowering the front or back would help alittle.

Set your plate to 4, start in second and learn how to ride out/slip the clutch to control the power.

4 strokes get out of the hole, there is no way around it. Plus they are a lot lighter.

Put a 4 over swingarm and learn to ride the bike....and launch it. The line is where races are won.

What gearing do you have...

me and dekker went up to silver lake on saturday and did some drag racing with pretty much every style quad out there and we beat ALOT of them launching in 2nd gear...I did some in 1st and got my ass handed to me by quads i beat 5 times launching in 2nd. I was happy/supprised how well my shee did against 450's, 660 raptors, and other banshees. With a good launch and being able to get the damn thing into 4th gear me and dekker smoked alot of people. But then again it was test and tune day at the local dragway so i imangine alot of the FAST quads were there but i was still happy with the results of the shee. But if you can keep the front down try launching in 2nd, you will be supprised......

So yea, popular opinion wins again. I am not launching the bike right. In first it stands up, and second it bogs. I hold the throttle at a little less than half and it bogs like hell. I am running stock gearing with 20inch tires. I am going to bump that timing plate up soon as a get a chance though. Then I'm going to get some balls and hold her open and try to slip the clutch. Hopefully I don't land on my back.

you have to get used to fanning your clutch go out on the street and practice alot i run mine at the drag strip stock length swingarm lean all the way forward as far as you can youll prob still wheelie a little but if you can keep from having to let up on the gas you will do alot better any time i wheely my time shows it but still beat the 450s

buy some of those lowering links for the front. i saw some the other day on here that move the bottom of the shock out.

all the good dirtbike motocross guys use holeshot devices to hold the forks down a bit.

these links would be easily removable too. i wouldnt do any agressive riding with the lower front, because of hitting stuff, and i would imagine it would handle funny with the rake.
