  1. I start by washing the plastic with a good degreaser and power washer. Then I wash by hand with HOT soapy water. After that I wet sand the plastics by hand with 400 grit then finished with 600 grit sandpaper. After sanding I wash the plastic again with HOT soapy water. Then I clean everything with a Dupont wax and grease remover. After making sure everything is clean, I use a couple of products from Dupont that is made for painting plastics. The first I is a precleaner that is wiped on and then wiped off. The next product is Plas-stik that is sprayed on. Then after all that I use basecoat paint with a clearcoat. I have never had any problems with the paint. The paint job on my Banshee pictured below took around 5 hours from idea to spraying the clear.
  2. I painted the plastics on my Banshee. Nothing real crazy, just simple and clean.
  3. The front and rear fenders were white and the rad and tank cover were blue.
  4. A local bank has a Raptor for sale that they have on repo. The plastic is a little rough and it needs back tires, but I think I might be able to buy it for $3000. I need to know if you guys think I might be able to turn it for a profit. Anyways let me know what you guys think.
  5. I was wondering if anyone know what chrome shops charged to chrome stuff like pegs, kick starter, a-arms, swingarms, etc. I need to get some stuff chromed and I was trying to work out a budget.
  6. Hopfulley this pic is a little bigger. I think I need smaller front tires.
  7. I have a set of LRD's on my banshee. Don't hear much about this pipes for some reason, but I love mine.
  8. I get all my stuff at a local auto paint store. The paint gun itself, I got mine on ebay.
  9. I started by washing the plastic with a good degreaser and pressure. Then I washed by hand with HOT soapy water. After that I wet sanded the plastics by hand with 400 grit then finished with 600 grit sandpaper. After sanding I washed the plastic again with HOT soapy water. Then I clean everything with a Dupont wax and grease remover. You have clean the plastics, this is the most important step. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. After making sure everything is clean, I used a couple of products from Dupont that is made for painting plastics. The first I used was a precleaner that is wiped on and then wiped off. The next product was Plas-stik that is sprayed on with the paint gun. Then after all that I just used basecoat paint with a clearcoat. I think I had around 5 hours in the complete job.
  10. Just open it up and dump the clutch in first gear and hopefully the back tires will spin a little bit, if not then........
  11. Yes I painted the plastics myself. I painted them just like I paint plastic bumpers on cars with Dupont products. I have had no problems with peeling. I just wanted something different then solid colors.
  12. Quick appearance freshing up on my banshee before snakehunt. What do you guys think?
