csrmel Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 as i understand it these oko carbs are becomming quite popular. a few months ago i had never even heard of them. now there are quite a few member with the swap. wondering if we can make a definitive guide to swapping over to oko's. where to buy, throttle cable requirements, jetting cross reference, intake manifold?, air filter? etc etc... i know theres bits and pieces on the forum about oko's, but to have all the info in 1 place would be a benefit to us all. so if you have info, post it up. shee4speed Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 How much are these carbs going for? Quote
jbooker82 Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 For an Intake I would get a boss racing intake or white knuckle. I dont know if you need it to clear the clutch arm like you do with PWK33's (or larger) or PJ's. The main advantage is that it has a built in crossover inbetween carbs so you dont have an external tube or boost bottle. You can also replace the rubber flanges and they cost 10-15 bucks so they are not to terribly expensive. White Knuckle Racing LINK The make a intake for 28-30mm carbs. Here is my 33's with a boss intake Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 (edited) I got the OKO's and i love them. I would hate to have the old shitty ass stockers , these are fuckin easy as hell to tune and i picked them up for 200 bux from Carb Parts Warehouse on ebay with the throttle cables and a bunch of extra jets included, hell they even pre jet them how ever you want them too also ....how in all hell could i not buy them . Check them out you can go wrong with them. Oh and all the internals are Keihin parts so it makes it easy to find parts and shit for them. I assume you buy Keihin jets for them...how do they run, jet number-wise, compared to a genuine PWK? Quote
sheerider1026 Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 yea i was wondering about the jets and needles, i assume the keihin parts will work, if so then they should be fairly easy to tune.. it also said that they fit the stock intake boots Quote
2strokespirit Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 I did not know they were getting this popular, I saw them one ebay, but though i'll rather go for the pwks, but I haven't bought any yet. Would be nice to know if they performs up to standard. Quote
akita8 Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Does anyone have the part breakdown that they can post? Quote

They fit the Intake easy its the air box boots that are a bitch!!! I found that if you Flip the boot inside out It fit much better. Use Standard Hose clamps They have a better WIDE bite. Attach to the Carbs First Then roll the boot up on the carb Install the air box and roll the boots out to the airbox and Clamp down Works great!. Best bet Is buy some pods If your riding style allows for it. Quote

I'd be happy to measure them for you...and ship them to you for DIRT CHEAP.... Quote
tnr Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 I have these carbs on my shee and if you run the k&n pods you have to order them from k&n. They are not a common size. Just cause they are a pwk28 opened up doesnt mean they will take the same pods. I had to get a new idle screw and ordered one for the pwk28 and it was a perfect fit. Hope this helps, cause I spent awhile trying to figure it out. :: Quote
MDS2106 Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 The stock size pod filters will work, you just need to boil some water and stick the clamp end in the water for a min. or two then push them on the carbs and let them cool. They will form fit to the carbs. We boiled and stretched a stock intake to fit on a 36mm carb this week on my buddies drag blaster...
