freddy Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 IM THINKING OF PUTTING REED SPACERS ON MY INTAKES, BUT WAS WONDERIING IF IT EVEN GAVE IT ANY POWER, DOES ANYBODY HAVE SOME ON THEIR SHEE'S ? I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE SOME FEEDBACK, THANKS Quote
RZBansheeMan Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 They are kinda like the boost bottle thing ! Don't waste your money on that nonsense stuff. You would be better off with the V-force 3's Quote
shanYE west Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 No power.. It just help with clutch arm clearence if you need it. Quote
freddy Posted June 20, 2007 Author Report Posted June 20, 2007 They are kinda like the boost bottle thing ! Don't waste your money on that nonsense stuff. You would be better off with the V-force 3's well i already have the v force 3s but was just curious as to if the spacer gave it anymore at all, like maybe it sucked in more air or something, i remember someone telling me somethinglike that, so then its a waste of money??? wat about boost bottle??? thanks again Quote
doorslammer Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 the whole idea of the reed spacers is that more fuel and air gets into the crankcase therefore more can get into the combustion chamber. not worth it the boost bottle isnt worth it either its meant to hold more fuel and air so more can be sucked into the crankcase easier but it doesnt work cause whe one pison is at tdc the other is at bdc about to use it all. sorry that its abit confusing im short for time at school :: but there is a good write up somewhere here on the site do a quick search for it .   Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 I can't wait to get my VForce3 reeds Quote
dajogejr Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 IM THINKING OF PUTTING REED SPACERS ON MY INTAKES, BUT WAS WONDERIING IF IT EVEN GAVE IT ANY POWER, DOES ANYBODY HAVE SOME ON THEIR SHEE'S ? I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE SOME FEEDBACK, THANKS NO. NO power, no advantage...just one more place a gasket can leak. However...if you run larger carbs on a stock cylinder, you'll need them to clear the clutch arm, or...you grind the bottom of the carbs. Do not waste your money.... Quote
2Smoker Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 NO. NO power, no advantage...just one more place a gasket can leak. However...if you run larger carbs on a stock cylinder, you'll need them to clear the clutch arm, or...you grind the bottom of the carbs. Do not waste your money.... The guy I bought my bike off of had reed spacers and a boost bottle already installed. I threw my boost bottle in the garbage one night after fighting with it and threw my stock tube back on. No difference at all. I don't know about the reed spacers, they are supposed to give you a little bottom end, but I highly doubt it. If you want cheap power advance your timing 4 degrees by modifying your stock stator plate, take 30 thou off the stock head and get a port job. Cheap power! Seriously with all the money you could blow on boost bottles and reed spacers etc... you could actually get real power out of your engine. Quote
RagunCajun Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 I run NOSS machine spacers. The guy who ported my juggs etc told me to use them because they shoot the mixture or something better. I cant comment on how they perform. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 the guys full of it.. like said they are to clear the clutch arm. Quote
locogato11283 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 i wouldnt bother with speacers unless you need them to clear the clutch arm with bigger carbs. otherwise theyre worthless and just add another place for a leak to occur.. Quote
