sandrailprincess Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Well I for one will not pay for a open forum website I personnally believe that there is more free sites on the web that we can all access more now and we need to communicate them here and elsewhere, I feel sorry for the sponsors that have paid for banners and won't get what they paid for, and since you have to pay in order to access or post on the site it is not worth accessing now!!! I know I am working with our web guy to make sure any upcomming events are post on our site and will do my best to keep it updated these are my own personal thoughts!!!

Darren400 Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 wow i cant belive that PS is charging money for there site, i was reading the forums and all the paid members said that they havent seen it so slow in a really long time, Planet sand is going to go to shit if they dont get rid of the fee, looks like i will be spending more time on banshee HQ.

Here it is.the problem with sponsers are the ones that pay it are great and we thanks them for it . but it's the ones that sell there stuff through there pms instead of just paying for the sponsership, and thats why this site doesnt make enough money to run, the money has to come from somewhere to keep it up and running. You know who this is about don't you. This is all Jeff's fault for making to many sales over their thru pm's. Sorry Jeff (Farmandsandtoys) couldn't resist. :biggrin:

Wait Iam gettin a liitle outta hand-LOL.. Allot of guys(including myself) try not to get to carried away but otherwise the nice thing about HQ is there isnt the polotics and censorship that PS had.. As some have mentioned HQ doesn't have quite as much "technical info" as PS did but with the addition of many new members(former PS members included :biggrin: ) this site only gets that much better and more informative/valuable.. Whereas HQ is more a social thing with general info on the more common banshee setups. I bet if there are enough people that would like to see that kind of a thread here that Lee would make a thread column just for the bigger HP engines and all the technoligy that goes with it.If what everyone is saying happens with PS then all of the people from there may come over here and want to have that kind of thread. :shrug:

Since I live with Charlie, I just wanted to tell you all first hand that PS has taken over Charlie's life. He spends all day everyday working on the site, or promoting the drags. When Charlie does work in the shop, this site, the users and the races get neglected. However, we have bills to pay just like everyone else and I can tell you that things have tight around here because Charlie does spend so much of his time here. We have had offers to sell the site, and considered doing so. Actually, I was hoping he would sell the site so I could have Charlie back, lol! But we also know that PS is a great site and is setting the standards for our sport. If we sold the site, there is no telling what direction it would go. So at last, PS is on subscription. Our apologies if it has offended or made anyone upset. We know we will loose some of our members, but we are hoping the subscription will weed out many of the trouble makers and users with multiple user names. $6 a month may seem like a lot to some, but in my opinion the information, entertainment and friendships that come from this site are worth much more. After all, if you didn't spend so much time on PS you would probably be somewhere else doing something else that would cost a lot more. $6 barely buys you lunch at a fast food restaurant or gets you into a movie now days. I hope we have made the right decision. I hope that Charlie can make a little money for all his time spent away from work; so he can devote even more time to better our sport and this site. I did really like some of the different reading over there but to be honest it was the worst site I have ever seen to follow. This site is way easier to use. Ill miss looking over there but I wollnt miss trying to us that site. Also how can Lee work this site but the owner over there struggles to find time. Hell this site looks way better and works smoother. Another thanks to lee. :thumbsup:

HMNMMMMM bums...looks like hq is gonna become flooded,,hopefully they dont follow suit! lol i was reading that post it got funny and ugly fast. dont know dave m. but he cant seem to take any kind of ribbing. suck to be him. most that was said was kinda true and very funny. as far as ps. i personnally didnt offer a lot of tech advice, not my place or thing. tried to offer quasi porn, gets deleted, say some stuff deleted, then post about how its communism, deleted and then get a pm. ill miss the oklahoma section, classifieds and other shit but im not going to support communism and censorship like they had. if you have a problem with a builder then let people know about it, and then the others can make up their minds on what to believe. 60 bucks is a porn sites membership. and if you sell somesome stuff like what jeff was brought up on, is jeff going to really break the site down for selling a 100$ part, probably not. lot of people make simple parts like intakes or some shit. small timers why pay 2000 for shit and you might not get your money back but to sell stuff you have to have it. total bullshit. anyways.
