jkross Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 I searched the forums for info on the powerball. Two references - 1 good & 1 Bad. I'm hoping to get a few more opinions...any takers? I can imagine it would get gummed up really bad, really quick. Am I wrong? I found a lot of info you all posted on polishes - great info. just need to know about the good ol' powerball. I just bought a banshee and everything on it is polished - but dirty. I just want a simple solution to polish everything back to it's glory days (is that too much to ask?) The Powerball looked like it might do the trick. I'm a cheap bastard and don't want to throw $30.00 down the drain. I've got to do four sets of wheels, the footpegs, shifter, brake levers, case, head, swing arm, fatty pipes, powercore silencers..yada yada yada...lots of work. I should have bought a bike with less shiny stuff. I haven't even ridden it yet!...I'm forever going to be polishing. Thanks in advance. Quote
Big Blue Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 From what I have seen the balls work really well, make sure all the parts are cleaned really well before you start polishing carb cleaner and wiping down with a rag works really well. Quote
KlotzBanshee Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 got one. works great on wheels and other large areas, still have to get the nooks and cranys by hand though. Def cuts down on time. Worth the 24 bucks imo. - its only foam, so doing pegs you might loose some. Watch the sharp edges and you'll be ok. Quote
SandShots Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 if youre into polishing then its for you. i have alot of billet and alluminum. that thing kicks ass and makes it easy on the wheels. they now make a smaller one to get in tight places. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 damn, good to hear, I wanted to do the aluminum wheels on my truck, does it work well with mothers polish, or should I stick to the stuff they give you with it? Quote

I use Mothers Incredible Billit. It's expensive, (like $13 a can) but the stuff shines like no other. Edited September 1, 2006 by AssWhore Quote
crazybluerider Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I use it on my centerlines and it cuts way down on time. It works well with the mothers power polish they say to use with it hten I go over the wheels real quick with some of the original stuff by hand. Makes them shine like new and I can do all 4 in a bout a hour now. Quote

Would it work for cleaning in between spokes on a motorcycle wheel? :baseball_original: Quote
bigboybanshee Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Would it work for cleaning in between spokes on a motorcycle wheel? :baseball_original: I bet it would do well on spokes, just keep it away from the hub and you should be OK since the spokes are rounded. I have another alternative to cleaning wire wheels though...go to your local auto parts store and check out Eagle One chrome wire and wheel cleaner. I used it all the time on some wire wheels I had in the past, worked awesome getting all the brake dust/grime off. Quote
jbooker82 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 damn, good to hear, I wanted to do the aluminum wheels on my truck, does it work well with mothers polish, or should I stick to the stuff they give you with it? I just use the stuff that they give you with it. It washes out of the power ball nice and clean. I dont know if any of the paste type polishs would clean out that well. Quote
NY350twin Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 I sell MOTHERS products at work, and from my customers and from personal experience its a pretty good product. They all so make the MINI powerball with extension , it works better and gets in alot of tight spaces. This one perfect for cleaning the quad. Quote
