I'm getting another system in a couple of months once I have time to use it. Money doesn't matter as it's a gift of whichever I so choose. My thoughts are that if I get the 360 I can buy older cheaper games in addition to the new games where as the PS3 they will all be expensive. Is there any reason to wait for the PS3? Any thoughts?

360 all the way. I think you can actually find them

in the stores now. Dont know what kind of games you like

but there are some cool games out for it.

Ghost Recon: advanced warfighter. That game is fun as hell.

MotoGP 06. Pretty cool motorcycle racing game. There

are several good looking games on the horizon too.

Dont rule out the Nintendo Wii. Have any of you guys seen how

crazy the controller is?

I heard a while back that the PS3 is going to be light years ahead of the Xbox. Like you said the games are cheaper for the Xbox though, but I don't think that either one is going to have very many games. I also read that the PS3 will have a better expandability and all around entertainment system than the Xbox. Someone else with more info may chime in here, but you should do a search at like CNet or egghead and get more info. Good luck man.........

to me its all about preference and loyalty, i have never had a problem with any of my sony products, i have a psp, ps1, ps2, and other sony products and to me they are top notch. everybody claims to be better than the other, i dont have any hard facts though, you gotta do some research.. for me though, i am a loyal sony person, i just might not buy the ps3 when it comes out, might wait to see if there is a 2nd generation a few months after... my cousin bought a 1st generation ps2, and has had problems ever since, he still has it, he has sent it to sony 4 times, each time they "fixed it" they even supposedly put a whole new system inside his shell, yet he still has problems, he has to take the shell off his ps2 to change games because the disc tray broke. i waited and bought a 2nd generation, and they fixed all the bugs, and my ps2 has accidentally fallen off a 4 foot tall entertainment center, sometimes people leave it on, and other shit happens to it, and mine still works flawlessly to this day...

I didn't know there was a new motogp, ever since I got my bike I've pretty much been addicted to anything bikes.

I saw that nunchuck deal, looks weird, might be cool though.

Good Point, not sure if that's a big deal or not. I'll check it out.

I'll probably own both by the end of '07. I've got a ps2 now but never bought an xbox so I kind of feel like I've been missing out. On the other hand the Playstation controller is the only one I like.

I've heard that the PS3 isn't going to be as powerful as they originally had said.

360...i love mine real good console...huge improvement over the xbox. I'm not too sure on the ps3 right now, i'll wait a few months after it released.

I would go for the 360.PS3 isn't going to live up to all the hype. Its not going to be as powerful as they go on about.I've read its going to be the same graphic wise as the 360.Unless you want a Blu-Ray player or theres games you want that are only coming out for the PS3,i would stick with the 360.You can always buy a PS3 when they first come out and sell it on Ebay for $2000.

No PS3 doesnt have HALO, but they DO have Grand Theft Auto. And some of the things that are in the PS3 are a lot more money just by themselves. For example, Blue Ray disc players alone cost around $1000 dollars. But Blue Ray technology is in the PS3, and the price of the PS3 depends on which of the two you want. There is the "regular" version that has a 20Gb hard-drive, Wireless, Controller, 4 USB Ports, AV Multi-Out, 5 different Video Resolutions, Optical Audio, Dolby 5.1 and DTS, Blue Ray Drive, DVD, CD, SACD, Ethernet, and Bluetooth 2.0....Or you go with the "advanced" version that has all of the above, including HDMI(video), 60GB Hard-drive(instead of 20), Memory Stick, Secure Digital, Compact Flash(Storage devices), and Wi-Fi connections. Sure the prices of these two version are expensive, $499(regular) and $599(advanced), but these are pushing much more power than the 360. Usually Microsoft and Sony would release their products around the same time, worrying one company would make more money releasing their product sooner. This time the 360 came out, almost a year before the PS3 is going to be launched. And i think they are going to still do damn well, lots of people are waiting for the PS3. And for anyone that ownes a PS2, they know how good the games where and how many there was, there are tonnes. And the 360 rushed out with a few games to start it off, while Sony, and together companies already have quite a few games in the making. And good titles: MGS 4, Final Fantasy Xlll, Warhawk, God of War ll, and more. And at leasy they got rid of the Banana controller and went back to the old style that fits in your hands ever so nicely. Even though they got rid of the force feedback, but now have motion sensors that detect X, Y, and Z Planes( I am still unsure about this  ) But enough of me talking....

I personaly would wait for the PS3, a lot better graphics, plays Blue Ray which most disc's are soon all going to be, and the sheer love of Sony and the PlayStation

I have both the PS2 and Xbox.

I love my PS@ and still play it to this day, but I cannot get enough of Halo2 on xbox live.

I have not yet purchased a 360 since I am not impressed at all, they also seem to have troubles on the xbox live network, I'm always loosing my buudy on live or he can't hear the rest of us while in gameplay.

Imo the 360 was rushed and they have some bugs to work out still, sure you can view a movie or pictures from your computer via the 360, but who cares, and the hard drive is small for such large downloads.

Sony on the other hand has always been gadget crazy, just look at all the things available for the PS2, the ps3 even if it isn't as powerful as originally intended it is still more advanced then the 360 and will have a butload more games and accessories for it.

They say Halo3 will be released the same time as the PS3, this poses a big problem for me :baseball_w00t:

I'm having the same dilemna. I'm defintely getting a ps3 no if's and's or but's. My problem is my son's 10th birthday is Aug 2nd. He's a hardcore gamer and really would like to get him a new game system for his birthday. So I'm thinking X-box 360 for him and ps3 for me when it comes out. lol

As for you guys that say real gamers play on the PC, maybe in the past!! These new generation units closed the gap. The PS3 will have a better and more powerfull graphix engine than anything in the PC market. PC's will catch up before the ps4 will be released, BUT, how many people play pc games on a 62" 1080P DLP television and a true high-end surround system. PC gamers can't hang with that no matter how you slice it.
