I plan on jsut riding the dunes, no drag racing. I just need some paddle tires that are cheap and work ok. How many paddles on the tire should I choose? Str8 paddles or curved? I plan on ordering from rockymountain. Are there any tires that I should stay away from? Bansh88 Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Make sure you get 10" wheels. ANY paddle is better than knobbies. If price is a main concern, get the cheapest you can find. Most tires are going to be "v" cut. It doesn't make a HUGE difference so if you find a smoking deal on a used set of Skat Trak Haulers? Buy them. I've seen a lot of sets for sale under $150! Quote

Wallrat Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 A new set of knobbies has better grip in the sand than geckos. Sandstars are a good duning tire. Get em mounted on blue labels. Might want to drop 1 tooth on your front sprocket as well cuz Pismo sand is pretty damp. Quote
