csrmel Posted May 8, 2006 Author Report Posted May 8, 2006 interesting responses guys. i have tallied up the results so far and made a upgrade list based upon youre responses. heres what i have so far. 15 people said exhaust 14 people said filter 9 people said tires 7 people said suspension 7 people said reeds 5 people said tors removal 4 people said adjustable timing plate 4 people said skid plates/nerf bars/crash bars 3 people said rejet (this is sort of redundant though, as you need to rejet after doing pretty much any engine mods.) 2 people said port work 1 person said upgrade water pump impeller 1 person said handlebars 1 person said lightweight flywheel 1 person said lighting upgrade 1 person said mill head/aftermarket head and a bunch of misc responses about cleaning up the bike by removing unnessassary things like the parking brake for example. lets keep the responses comming. the more people who reply, the better an overall sample i can pull to get a real top 5 upgrade list. thanks. lowriderb Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 1 pipes 2 air filters/carbs 3 port work 4 aftermarket head with domes to match motor needs 5 suspension (i.e. tires, shocks/swing arm/a arms) jetting isnt an upgrade its tuning.. in order for a motor to perform right it needs tuning, the stock timing plate can be slotted to get you by for a while as well, tors can be bypassed and the tors carb tops can be left on there with no adverse effects..most of that can be done for cheap or free.. Turbobanshee_kid Posted May 8, 2006 Report Posted May 8, 2006 THE ENGINE....weld your crank. port the engine. pipes. reeds. mill the head. and K&N with outer wear. GET THE JETTING RIGHT! BODY....... skid plates. handle bars. Nerf bars. BIGGER FRONT BUMPER. and Better A-arm's. Quote
Blue Duece Posted May 9, 2006 Report Posted May 9, 2006 well heres the way i see it your going to end up there anyway.......... i mean you could get pipes and that would be neat but you cant hang on to the fucker pinned without the chassis and shock mods, then when ya have those you'll want it faster cause now you can hang on, some guys will say build the motor then get shocks and chassis mods well fuck with stock suspenssion you cant pinn the motor you got and hang on, i have a buddy i race with who has all the chassis and shock mods yet his motor is bone stock no pipes nothing, and he's so fucking hard to catch, that stock banshee pinned hauls ass, if i didnt have chassis mods hed completly smoke me it doesnt matter that he has 37 horse power and i have 80, but on the pavement i leave him like he was standing still but on the track the little prick wins 50% of the time we race Quote
