Ripassbrother Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Right now Im running my stock air box with a 2 into 1 K&N filter. My mechanic says that for dune riding that its a waist to have my setup and go with the individual filters and put outwears on them. He also claims with the airbox he can't get the carbs just perfect. what are your guys feelings on this matter? thanks Quote
macgillivary Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 i claim hes trying to make some extra coin off of you, he CAN get it setup right with an airbox but hes not lieing, clamp on filters will give you some gains for duning put on some outerwears and youll be slingin sand with no worries Quote
sand rocket Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 I run the pods on my bike. It your ride were there is a chance of alot of water i would keep the air box. If you do decide to go to the pods make sure that those muther fuckera are tight. I usally have to back track to find one of mine every once in a while Quote
sheecandy Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 i never had luck with the stock air box getting it to seal right go with dual k&n and outerwears Quote
'shee Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 I have the pro-design pro flo intake with a k&n on it, no problems here. imho if you are riding anything besides dunes stick with the airbox. Quote
Ripassbrother Posted March 11, 2006 Author Report Posted March 11, 2006 The only thing I run is dunes. So elliminating the airbox is going to give me more airflow? Is it to the point where I would notice it? And I have stock carbs on my banshee so what size of airfilters do I need and where is a good place to buy them cheap. thanks Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 GET THE PODS. i run them and they eliminate a lot of hassle with the carbeurators. You might want to make sure they are REALLY tight when you clamp them on though. I have had them fall of after cleanings bcuz they weren't tight enough. They work awesome for the dunes. theres nothing better more flow and cleaner look Quote
banshee tuner Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 If you ride dunes ditch that airbox and get the pods. They breathe better and make it easier to get to your carbs. Quote
Ripassbrother Posted March 11, 2006 Author Report Posted March 11, 2006 where is a good place to get them at a good price? Quote
wodeman Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Rockymountainatv.com....they "were" $60 for the pair - outerwears another $15 Quote
Ripassbrother Posted March 12, 2006 Author Report Posted March 12, 2006 so do they come in different sizes? what size do I need for stock carbs Quote
Ripassbrother Posted March 16, 2006 Author Report Posted March 16, 2006 so for my stock carbs what size of pods do I need to get? Quote
Wallrat Posted March 16, 2006 Report Posted March 16, 2006 Just measure the filter side of the carb. Match the OD there to the ID of the filters listed on K&N's site. You want the 6" long filters. I don't remember the #'s offhand. Quote
Ripassbrother Posted March 23, 2006 Author Report Posted March 23, 2006 well I purchased the pods today witht the outerwears. Dropped them off at my shop motor should be installed this week. You think I will notice any difference with the 2 airfilters versus the 2 in to 1 K&N? Quote

I know I did when I put the individual filters on my bike. Quote
