twincylinder Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Im jsut wondering what everyone thinks of the new Lt-r450 from suzuki. Im jsut reading the march issue of DirtWheels and they have alot of good stuff to say about the bike power wise. they had a 450R at the track with it and suposidly it smoked it repeaditly. I mean we all know already that its still not gonna beat a modified shee at the strip . Theres an interview with Jeremiah Jones and he says it will put levery other bike out there to shame, but he is a suzuki rider so i wouldnt go by what he says . I havnt had a problem yet with beating 450r's and yfz 450's but do you think this new 450 will give us a better run for are money or will it jsut be another 4stroke. Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 its prolly gonna be pretty cool..who knows as of yet Quote
dawarriorman Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Well of course its going to beat everything in stock form, its already 49" wide. I would be surprised if it WAS a close race. Now compare it to a 450r and yfz450 with axles and a-arms, and then it would be something worth reading. Everything has been hyped to death when it first came out, and after awhile, people realize its not the greatest at everything. Remember the 400ex was supposed to be as fast as a banshee . Quote
rjvoight Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 If I was looking for a true MX Quad, it is likely that LTR would be the machine I would buy. And I have always been very anti Suzuki. I think Suzuki has come around. They have guys like DeCoster and Rick Johnson managing teams. They have riders like Gust, Jones, Carmichael and now Tedesco. Not to mention Broc Hepler and a host of other up and comers. And dont forget Pastrana and Tortelli. The machines are top notch across the board. Now, with all of that said.....Take me to the dunes on a mildly modded Banshee and maybe give it a set of elkas up front......there is no question....for people who know how to ride...ie work a clutch and jam gears, there is still no better bike for throwing sand! AZ Olie Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 Let's hope that it's not much faster then the YFZ 450 or alot of stock Shee riders are going to get beat by a 4 stroker on the hill's... I'm really interested in seeing this quad perform... Hat's off to Suzuki to build a REAL Race Quad, instead of a Sport Quad... Can't wait for President's weekend @ Glamis... Later, Olie Quote
Gargamel Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 Look and sounds like a cool quad but can't judge it till I ride it. Anyone been on one yet?? I just got done with an article that had spy pics of the Yamaha EFI I think it is the next evolution of atv's Quote
suzuki0702 Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 all i can say is it is going to dominate all of the 4-chokers...right off the showroom floor...how restricted do u think that thing is?? like the shee or not? Quote

jjfizzle51 Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 i read an article of the outlaw it might have been a mistake but it looked exacly like the preditor and in the specs. part it was exactly i mean exactly the same i didnt reallly get the point of it Quote
Too Many Toys Posted February 5, 2006 Report Posted February 5, 2006 It is the same engine from the looks of it. But the damn thing has independent rear suspension. I wonder how it rides? Take a look http://www.polarisofdaytona.com/new_vehicl...43&CatDesc=ATVs Quote
