milo_32000 Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Have a 02 Shee, bone stock, if I let it sit for a few days I have to kick my ass off to get it cranked, after it get warm it starts in 4 or 5 kicks, maybe a few more , is this normal ??? Thanks , Milo_32000 Quote
KJO89 Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 When its really cold out mine takes 2-3 kicks. Nice weather 1-2 kicks. Mine is stock to so i dont think yours is normal. Quote
crazywheelerman365 Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 For some reason this seems to be pretty normal , try turning the gas on a couple of minutes before you kick it . It always seems to do the trick... Quote
RIPPEN Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 My bike has actually started great in almost every condition other than the first start up of the season(4-5) or when the plugs get fouled. Otherwise mine usually starts first kick. Sounds to me like you need to do a little tuneing... Try searchin cuz I have seen some post recently about this subject RIPPEN Quote
dawarriorman Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Before I rebuilt, it would take a while sometimes, if I hadn't run it in more than a week. But since the new top end, it hasn't taken more than 2 kicks yet. Quote
chris642 Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 i let mine sit for over a month, temp anywhere from 32-45 degree's, started like 6th kick the other day after playing wiht the choke. During the summer when i would not ride it for a little(week or two) it would start on the first kick always. When mine is hot it will always start first shot. Quote
jjfizzle51 Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 i dont know why but i do one kick with out choke than 1 with choke every time and it fires right up dont ask me why i do this but it works for me Quote
thegroup Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 my 250R and my buddy's banshee i built(400 stoker) start 1st or 2nd kick with the choke on Quote
98basketbanshee Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Check your compresion its low below 100 psi time to rebuild . Quote
bansheefreak Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 as long as i turn my fuel on wait a sec... pull the choke sit down give it a lil kick shee fires right up... not bad for a 95 banshee that never been opened up... Quote
350TwinDeathBed Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop? Quote
bad99banshee Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 before my rebuild... 3-4 kicks...5-6 if it has sat a while. after my rebuild... 1-2 depending on how long it has sat before I have run it. -Tom Quote
scotts96fast Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 First kick all the time.If it sat for a while I will kick it a few times with the key off.Turn the key next kick she goes.... Quote
banshee tuner Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 After they sit a while it can be common not to start easy, when it does this rock your shee side to side while standing on the foot pegs holding the handlebars. Rock it enough that the tires come off the ground. It might look stupid but trust me it works. It atomises(if I spelled that right) the fuel. Quote
Dinner Posted January 29, 2006 Report Posted January 29, 2006 Starts 1st kick in nice warm weather , in cool weather takes more cause i dont have it jetted for the cold Quote
