3ban5shee0 Posted December 29, 2005 Author Report Posted December 29, 2005 You have seen this? 452740 yes i have seen a 700 raptor take a yfz 450 Quote
ridenfast03 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 hey my buddy just picked his up and after a day of riding we lined them up my yfz killed it. then i gave him ten feet and by 3rd i was passing him. my yfz has a pipe so it should beat his stock. but it wont TEAR a yfz apart by ne means. but i was a bit jealous when we went trail riding and i had to keep getting off my yfz to turn it around and all he had to do has shift to reverse. o and the whole hype about the fuel injection no rejetting. bad deal yeah when u pipe it u dont have to rejet u just have to buy a programer!! thats bout 300$ we took his baffle out and air box lid off and was wondering why it wasnt helping it out very much so we called yamaha and they told us we would have to bring it to them to reprogram it!! but on planet sand they say they are making alot of horsepower after u reset them! so i would say its all up to u Quote
ridenfast03 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 if u dont beleive me bout the race i will have loco come down and tape it and post it for ya!!! Quote
dawarriorman Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 (edited) i did a search on here for 700 raptors and i dont no why everyone is saying they cant rev and all that stuff yah sure there not a two stroke and there not going to rev as high as the banshee but it will deff tear apart a yfz and seen it done 452663 They can't rev because most people who have dynoed them so far have found that it falls flat on its face around 6 or 7 grand. Its making a ton of torque, but doing it at such low rpm, that its not near as fast as it should be. Now when they come out with some higher reving aftermarket cams, who knows, this thing may be a monster. I know there is one guy working on a supercharger kit with a procharger blower. I can't wait to see how that turns out. I would get the raptor just cuz Im sick of so many people thinking the yfz450 is gods gift to atvs, and can do no wrong. I still wouldnt mind having one though. Edited December 29, 2005 by dawarriorman Quote
Ducman Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 Suzuki z-450R, fuel injection, sounds like its going to be bad ass... just a thought. Quote
banshdog Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 If i had the choice, i would take the 450. Quote
blackandyellowshee Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 i raced a 450 and a 700 at the same time and beat the 450 only by 5 feet the whole way but we left the 700 way behind. We all have pipes. Quote
txblueshee Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 I don't care too much for either one in stock trim... at 6'3 i'm way to cramped on the yfz... the craptor still has the same notchy ass transmission too... not even accounting the fact it hurts me to look at it... I've ridden fully tricked yfz's... I"m more comfortable on the trx... it's a turd (except the 06) but I just like the way it handles alot more..... IMO none of these things are "fast" in stock trim... but it's comparing apples to oranges Mike Quote
sp1tekiller Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 The YFZ may be a little cramped for me (6'3), but it would be my choice. Quote
Hulio-mv Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 4fiddy for sure and all bikes have to be adjusted to the rider at 6'9" i look like a monkey banging a watermellon nomatter what i ride Quote
Shee-Male Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 they are 2 different bikes. one is for performance, and the other has a reverse gear 452768 Buy the last year of the banshee, and ride with a smile on your face. FYI, no YFI !! Quote
banshee tuner Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 Finally got to see a 700 run yesterday, it does not look fast but it has great traction and does not wheelie bad like the 660. Pulled up beside him in 3rd and left him, but from a dead stop the 700 holeshot is awesome. This thing was bone stock still on it's first tank of gas. Quote
