cutiegirlracing Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 What if 06 wasn't the last year for the bike we all came to know and love? What if Yamaha kept this wonderful machine alive. What would you like to see in a future 2007 Banshee? My future Banshee would be bumped up to a 450cc with bigger pistons and a longer stroke with a good midrange port job. It would also be fuel injected with electic start. It be wider and lower with a front suspension more like the YFZ. It would come in pink or pink as one of the colors. I know this is as likily to happen as me giving up chocolate, but a girl can dream can't she? What about the rest of you? What would you like to see in the next Banshee, if there was one? Keep in mind this would be a stock production bike, so the 10mm strokers on alky, may not be likely. But come on I like to hear those dreams. Quote

A reverse would not be a bad idea and some better shocks. Otherwise I reckon I like everything about the shee, maybe a full set of carbon fibre plastics if that makes sense. Quote

RNBRAD Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 Wouldn't matter, I'd still change it. Quote
ozosborne Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 Wouldn't matter, I'd still change it. 445924[/snapback] Without the modding I gues it would just not be as much fun! Quote
sp1tekiller Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 Powervalved cylinders from the old RZ. YFZ shocks Electric Start Reverse Better stock rear tires Updated plastic Quote
stuntmasta3o5 Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 How on Earth can you have a reverse on a Banshee?.. I would like a better suspension and a wider rear axle? Quote
Soupbox660 Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 The Banshee will forever be the Banshee, so I'm going to have to say as long as I get like a bowl of soup or a really sweet hat with it, its fine with me. Mods fix everything anyway. Quote
dawarriorman Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 (edited) First it would have to have direct fuel injection, that way it would pass emissions everywhere, and those poor people out in CA can use them again. Second, new port layouts, something a little more high tech so there isn't a need for aftermarket cylinders. Powervalves of course. Then it would need new suspension. Rearrange the geometry so people will stop complaining that it can't handle. Good fully adjustable and rebuildable shocks all the way around. An air filter system that works. A non plastic waterpump impeller. I think that would do it. And definately NOT in pink (sorry, but no). Edit: And definately NO reverse or electric start. You want those, go get a 4 poke. Real men don't need reverse, and aren't afraid to kick over a little 2 stroke. Edited December 7, 2005 by dawarriorman Quote
helldriver Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 as long as it had some changes other than colors,, i would be happy Quote

A properly maintained and set up shee should be a breeze to start. Not to start anything... but ive never had to kick more than 3 times even when its below freezing. TAke your carbs apart, and be sure to clean EverYTHING! Hopefully it will start easier. I would like to see 250r geometry and long travel suspension come stardard on the shee. Wouldnt complain if it had some powervalves either Quote
tOj Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 If it had that motor I don't think I would care it was pink, everybody would be getting smoked by a pink quad. Quote
Joshtruction Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 (edited) ok, I am going to shoot for a realistic one here..... Fullbore or more modern looking yet still banshee like plastics. At LEAST YFZ 450 shocks Some suspension geometry changes +2 A arm option from the factory Noss head with choice of domes some form of better tire (I hate the stock tires) smaller headlites (hopefully better ones) renthal or pro taper bars like they are throwing on the 450 two wheelers Better air box set up some good pipes from the factory welded crank from the factory?!? stronger clutch maybe a few more dress up parts for the engine Fuel injection may be a little much to ask for, but will make the twin run better, cleaner, and probably have better low end TQ. The tuning would be great, and it would be pretty easy to match the cylenders. I realize the twin scares a lot of people off. If they were to do them mods from the factory, I bet it would sell a TON more and still have some competition for the newer quads. What do you guys think of that?
