I recently changed to a lonestar axle and I cant seem to get the stock ones to hold anymore. They come loose after every ride. I was just wondering what some of you guys running aftermarket axles are using?

I bought mine from Shark Racing on ebay for about $35 a while ago. It was one of the cheapest I could find. There was no way in hell I was going to pay an arm and a leg for Lonestar's lock nut. I haven't had to mess with it since the day I put it on  .

I used a Rad lock nut with the stock axle and never had a problem. Then i bought a RPM axle and it wouldn't work.I bought a LSR lock nut and had a problem at first with it coming loose, but i just put blue loc-tite on the bolt and haven't had a problem since.

I use stock ones on my lone star axle. Once in a while the hubs loosen and I have to break the axle lock nuts loose then tighten them more.

I found the aluminium axle locknut will wear from the sprocket hub working on it causing reajustment more often. A friend suggested putting a stock steel axle nut on first then the aluminum axle locknut. Then back the stock nut off, kind of like how yamaha suggests to tighten your axle nuts. I would have tried this but I don't have problems with the stock nuts.

A few suggestions: Check to make sure your axle threads or nuts are not worn. Clean and degrease the nuts and axle threads and use a good medium strength locktight when you tighten them as Yamaha suggests.
