y2kbanshee9187 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 A couple friends of mine just got a 450R and I told them they should go with the YFZ 450 but they got them and Im supposed to go riding with them tommorow. We shall see what happens but they think they can beat me.... I am bored 20 over with a single carb, 2:1 pipe, and pro design cool head. cant wait to go riding with em Quote
Brian060 Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 They shoulda waited for the 06 to come out. That thing is gonna rip ass From what I've read your banshee should be a torque monster, and them YFZ's are fast. You may be surprised at the outcome of the race Quote
Banshee~ Posted July 9, 2005 Report Posted July 9, 2005 Should be pretty close, ditch the 2in1 and get some fatties and you will walk them. Beware a stock 450r with an HRC kit will smoke a piped banshee. Quote
2K1Banshee350 Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 yeah u may just get beat, even when they're stock except for top speed, but idk if a single pipe adds any top speed like other pipes. get toomeys and u'll win, untill they start modifying theres of course. but once u start porting u'll win Quote
stevo3176 Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 In my opinion a 450r will beat you bike. Unless you got some other mods that you did not mention. Quote
rocketboy Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 a good 4 mill banshee beats NITROUS 450's all day Quote

We're pretty close actually but I can get the launch every time and can usually stay in front unless I miss my shifts a little. By the time he's hitting 6th gear, he'll usually start gaining a little ground. If he gets a perfect launch on perfect turf, we're pretty even. I haven't been able to saddle up my banshee and 450r at the same time to compare, one of these days I'll get him on mine to see how it compares. Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 why would anyone buy anything but the 2006 yfz450??? Quote
sredish Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 I have the new dirtwheels, but haven't read the specs on the new yfz. I did see the Raptor 700 EFI on the cover tho. Quote
thegroup Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 the new yfz are up to 449cc instead of 439cc like the last 2 yrs (i believe). they r suppose to have longer steering stems, better seat and a new tire design Quote
Dead Op Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 WOW What a killer th 06 YFZ is , a whole more 10cc Quote
watkins Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 My banshee is just piped and I was racing a piped '05 YFZ450 over the weekend.. I was spanking him everytime (until the shee started getting hot, then i started suckin big time), i am thinking he wasnt the greatest rider because with my SST's I was taking him outa the hole each time which I really wasnt expecting. Those YFZ450's are fast.. even the 439cc. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 WOW What a killer th 06 YFZ is , a whole more 10cc 391041[/snapback] you will be able to tell the difference in that 10 cc's why is it that the pros who ride yamys brought there cc's up to 449? if it never made a difference they wouldnt do it Quote
