ive got 19cc domes, and to day i checked my compression. the tester read 215 pounds, both sides. that doesnt seem right. but it wasnt a shitty tester. it was a pretty fuckin new matco. so what gives? think thats possible?

That does seem pretty high for 19cc domes. Is the compression tester tip the same length as the spark plug where is screws in to the dome? Is there another guage you can use to see what it reads?

no, its slightly shorter. ill get another gauge on tuesday and try it out. maybe i just have one hellacious machinist?

Did anyone ever cut the deck of the cylinders down .

i bet its right! i have a cheaper tester and it will always read much lower than it should ,the chaep ones will usually read low! you may have some bad carbon build up on your piston tops which will raise comp . that is a crazy high # for your domes

i got about 4 hours of ride time on it today, so ill check the comp again on tuesday. dont think they have ever been decked. seems odd since most fuck ups drop your compression.

Cole your compression will also depend on your bore size and exhaust port timing. If your over 65.5 in bore I bet that your compression is close to 215.
