bansheeryder21 Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 What do all you sand riders recomend for aftermarket sprockets in the sand! My friends have -1 (13) on the front and +3 (44) on the back! Quote
1redram Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 A 13-44 is the same or equal to a 14-41 which is stock. So there gearing is just wearing the chain faster because of the smaller front sprocket. Nathan Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 13-44 is not the same as 14-41. No where close. 13-44 is the same as 12-41 and so forth. Most of the guys with mostly stock bikes run 13-41-43. If you do not want to buy a new chain you can get a 13 front and see how you like it. You will not be able to fit a 13-44 on the stock length chain. After you try the 13 front and you decide you like it then buy a new chain and run no smaller than a 14 and just get a bigger rear to match the ratio you want. 14-44 is the same as 13-41. You can look on manufactors of sprockets and see the ratio charts. Quote

sandgrencivic2k1 Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Read my sig. I use a 14/43 set up, works really nice, can run 4th up any hill, 5th up some, 5th and 6th down the flats. Quote
banshdog Posted February 1, 2005 Report Posted February 1, 2005 Mods listed in sig..... I just put a 15 tooth up front. Anyone with similiar mods run 15/41 in the dunes? Hope so, didnt plan on switching between 14 and 15. Quote

05bansh Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 I just dropped 1 tooth on the front spocket. seems to hook up good. Quote

sandgrencivic2k1 Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Yea I am using the stock chain. Quote
Wallrat Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Banshdog you'd be better off running a 14/41 or even a 13/41 with those extremes on there. Banshees hook up on spin and don't like to be lugged. I've found that people that don't use a very aggressive or tall paddle can keep stock gearing. Those out there who actually like some bite to their tires need to drop the gearing a little on a mildly modified shee. Quote
