Yea I am thinking it is stock... The whole motor had never been opened up until this build I just finished. Since I wanted to be able to break it in without worrying about clutch adjustments, I waited until later to do clutch. So far break in is going well....so after that maybe a new clutch kit.

Bottom line is that my clutch only disengages at the very end of letting it out. Probably 90% of the lever travel does nothing.....right near the end of letting it out it will go. Though it is not slipping yet....So can I adjust this somewhere? The lever adjustment is almost all the way screwed in....bout 2 threads out. The only other thing I know to do is inside the side cover, but I am not understanding that process with what I have read so far. Thanks for some info..

SO I am doin the top end on my bike right now as well.....and I cannot find anything NON SYNTHETIC at any shops here except KawaChem. I am not sure if Kawachem is good or not . Everything else seems to have Synth base and all that jazz. Can you guys throw out some specific (brand and "model number") oils to search for or make the shop order. I don't wanna break it in with trashy oil obviously. Thanks y'all

Banshee video or not...most of us here ride with, or even own 4 pokes of our own....and this video full of them is bad ass. There is 2 strok stuff in there too....not muc,h but whatever. The extended scenes has some rather creative footage. way better than the earlier DVDs IMO. I just wanted to tell everyone it is worth a view.

Yes you should go ahead with a Top End Build. My 98 was at 110psi on all stock parts at sea level. I am currently doing the build and it was in MUCH need of freshening. You run a risk of more damage if the piston to cylinder clearance gets too large and you catch the piston skirt on the port.....blah blah blah. So yes, 130ish is stock PSI, build you a new one.

they are 100% flush with cage....? I couldn't see anything wrong, but didn't know if they "wear out" since they flex.

I am now putting in a new top end into my 1998...I could not believe it was still on OEM pistons (110psi) and bore was right at 64mm on 3 diff micrometers. My question is this.....It is looking as if the bore wear is very minimal and a .20 will be fine...should I do reeds as well? They look clean and no cracks or anything....so I am not sure what else to look for on reeds. Have no porting and I use a 2into1 Pipe....stock carbs and Single K&N. Thanks

I have some (Banshee) WORKS front shocks that I need to sell .... They are not going to get used by me I am too light for them. I think they are set up for220-240 lbs. >and I am not anywhere near that. I will get the numbers off the box tomorrow to be exact. They were on my bike when I bought it last year.
