compose2 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 will the dyna-fs ignition work well with an adjustable timing plate? i have my timing advanced 4 degrees and was thinking of adding dyna fs ignition Quote
SDD Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I would adjust the timing plate back to 0 advance and play with the Dyna timing curves first. Later if you feel that you need to advance the timing over what they have preprogrammed on the Dyna cdi you can advance it with your plate or take the Dyna to a dyno shop/engine builder to have a custom curve burned. RBD Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Where can I find out more about the dyna-fs ignition, do they have a web site? Thanks, Ron Quote
Mxracer776 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 from what i was told and understand you can not use adj. timing plate or hi output stater with the ds.it will cause it to burn up and the timing plate will just screw up the box.you can get a program for your laptop and make custom adj. to your ds.awsome ignition mod. well worth it. I have a 200w stator on my bike and I just recently installed the Dyna. I've been running it for maybe 5 hours. Quote
Mxracer776 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 if you read the directions they say to use stock stator and you must use resister plugs. Quote

PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 It should be OK. It is recommended to not rewind the ignition side of the stator. But if you just rewound the lighting side, it doesn't matter. 312666[/snapback] I think the high output Ricky Stators only affect the lighting coil which won't hurt the Dyna. You should be fine Sredish. Quote
sredish Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Spoke with a tech named Scott at Dyna and he said there is no problem in running a high watt stator and that racers do it all the time. He said NO PROBLEM. Quote

CombatTalon2 Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 (edited) Yeah, my bike has had a high output stator since I bought it. The stator info says its 265W, thats nice. anyway, no problems with my Dyna and the aftermarket stator! Edited February 6, 2005 by CombatTalon2 Quote
superchicken Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 just set the plate at 0 and youl be golden.run resistor plugs, and the curves run like this 1 stock 2 low to mid 3 mid 4 topend Quote
