im goin to be racing soon... my shee has plenty of power with my engine mods but i have hardly any suspension mods... right now im looking at racing with a piped shee with 28m pwk with clamp on filters v force reeds and some other goodies.. morethan enough power actually to much cuz all i have for suspension upgrades is works double rate front shocks witrezzies and adjustable rebound....

what im really askin is has anyone everyraced a banshee with stock susension and if so how well did you do??

I RACED ALL LAST SEASON WITH STOCK SUSPENION I GOT 3RD OUT OF 19 OVERALL,THE LAST RACE I PUT ON WORKS TRIPLE RATES WITH REZZIES AND FOR ME IT WAS LIKE NIGHT AND DAY ,I WAS ABLE TO RIDE FASTER AND HARDER AND CHARGE THE BUMPS INSTEAD UP SLOW DOWN FOR THEM.IF YOU WERE TO GET THOSE OR A SET OF BETTER SHOCKS LIKE ELKA OR AXIS YOU WILL BE ALOT FASTER THAN RIDING WITH STOCK,BY THE WAY THE REASON I SWITCHED OUT WAS BECUASE I BENT BOTH FRONT SHOCKS GOING OFF A DOUBLE.IF YOU CAN JUMP UP TO NEW SHOCKS IN THE FRONT AT LEAST

would you recommend the triple rates over the doubles??? i heard a lot about this topic and thought that double rates were better for mx??? yea well i plan to get some elka's when the time comes that i get extended a arms... but for now im goin wit works jus to get some decent shocks till i can afford the a arms ya know... let me know about the triples verses the double rates cuz i had planned on getting double rates...

also what class did you race??? my shee is faster than raptors but the new yfz450 has given me a run for my money.... the problem wit the 450 which makes is so hard to beat is it hooks up better than the shee and is smaller and lighter......anyone ever race wit 450's in there class???

im pretty sure the triple rates are better for everything.

Gary and Quicksand recomended duals because the main spring on the triples is softer and will compress more when you are hard in a corner, where the stiffer spring in a dual will keep it straight. I like my dual rate TCS's on my QS +2+1 arms, that's for sure.

power is only part of the equation. what you want it low to mid. You want the accel to clear jumps and acel to mid on the holeshot straight away.

aight thanx guys for all your help....it looks like im goin to jus go with the wrks shocks on my stock a arms for his year and if all goes well im saving up for some extended a arms and axle and i might possibly shave my swing arm.... my main issue about spending all the money on the extended shit is i still ride trails... and i don't really wanna shave my swing arm cuz i occasionaly hit he dunes also.... but we willsee how racing goes this year and i will take it from there.....

well all the pros use tripple rate and i dont even think PEP or Axis make dual rate fronts so thats what i judge it by

most AXIS are actually dual rate... i HAD PEP trip-rate limited mass and the axis duals were night and day better for MX- even on the rutty tracks which really suprized me

Yup the Axis shocks are a hell of alot better. The triple rates were too soft. I had them revalved and I bent the shaft. Works couldn't hold up..so I bought a set of Axis and haven't been happier. Plus the works had more travel..caused my tie rods to contact the upper a-arm mount bracket..not good..I was eating ball joints because of this.

I raced a stock banshee for a bit. They don't hold up very well. After every moto check your chain adjustors, A-arm bolts, swing arm bolts, shock mounts..just about everything that moves..make shure they are tight. After EVERY moto.

I have an 03' 400ex bored to a 416 with alot of internal work(cams, valves, etc...). Plus it is alot wider than my shee.

This past Saturday my dad and I went up to the track to ride. I wanted to see how fast I was on 4 stroke compared to a 2 stroke. I thought I was going to be a hell of alot faster on my 416 just because it is completly race ready. Well I was wrong, just with a stock shee I could go faster just about everywhere on the track. I could get into and out of the turns alot faster. The only thing holding back the stock shee is the front suspension. I landed so hard with that stock suspension that I broke the skid plate mounting bolts in half. Don't buy Armadillo skids!!! So you should be fine racing mx stock. The first thing I am going to get is probably some Works dual-rate with rezzies.

unless you get a gullwing type arm you cant get good tripples from elka...elka's ssd's are a great shock for mx
