  1. thanx guys,that's what i thought,i lost alot of over rev with the 17cc domes i just got done putting my 19's in,she'll be back to her good old self now.i guess some things i gotta learn the hard way$$$$
  2. i just read a fourm that said the higher compresion the less top end.is this true?because the last time i went riding my shee felt like it lost top end i was running 17cc domes at 185psi,prior to that i was running19cc domes at 160psi and it ripped alot faster on the top.any help?????

  4. thanx for all the replies,i do alot of dune riding as well as some trails, i love the motor i have know,but it's really sensitive,anyway i'm looking to get alittle more power and still be reliable,how's the bottom and mid on the cubs? and will they react well with a mid range port, or due they just need a clean up?
  5. does anyone know what the cheetah cubs put out of h.p.?without a stroker motor.i want to know if i bolt on the cubs 64mm or68mm what kind of h.p. i'll get,all i can find is dyno results for cubs w/ stroker kits.
  6. i had this happen alot.you may want to pull off the clutch cover.in there,you'll see a little hook that grabs onto your shiftstar to change gears,what happen is the hook missed the pin on the shift star and is stuck between shifts,all you need to do is move the hook back on top of the pin and you'll be back to the regular sequence,try to push the hook in torwards the tranny to prevent it from coming off again.oh ya the hook is directly connected to the shift shaft.hope this helps
  7. check and sync.you carbs,check your plug caps and change your plugs see if that makes a difference i just had both plug caps fail and have the same problem.should be 5000 ohms or none resister cap should read 0:evil:
  8. i don't think you will have a problem with that compression,all that means is when your shee was ported they didn't lift the ports up that much.when i first got mine ported i ran the same compression and it was great,butthen i raised my compession up to 180psi and there was a world of difference.hold on.
  9. well,i use to shift without the clutch alot when did mx,and kept doing it when i rode theunes,when my tranny blew myengine builder said"you don't use the clutch in 2-4 gear do you"i said not much.then he told me there's your blown tranny problem,it trashed 2nd and 3rd gear 2 shift forks and 1 shift shaft,now this all happened over time of about 2 years,but it did happen.it's not cheap beleive me.
  10. if you didn't get the jet kit with the pipes,move your neddle clip to the fourth posistion down,put in 280 mains and your air screws at 2 turns out.if you have toomey needles put them on the 3rd clip.befor i did my motor work this is how i set up my carbs for sea level oh ya remove the lid on the air box
  11. i got a set,i love them,they made a great difference in handling,i mostly ride in the sand now but the awesome.and not to hard to set up althought they did not come with any instructions.
  12. it was the spark plug caps,i do run 8's but putting 7's in was part of troubleshooting the problem.the old caps were rusted and corroded inside,i put new ones in and no problem.
  13. i don't go by the threads at all, i look at the porcilen(the white area on the plug to be a nice lite to meduim brown after doing a 5 gear plug chop,if your in the brown your probably good.
  14. all i really do is dune,i went with the stock lenght custom creation swing arm,round housing and alba 2+1a-arms,and it's a blast to ride,but if you don't want the front to come up in every gear than go with the plus 4",i just like to able to yank wheelies at any given time.anyways what ever you do go with a round housing.
  15. i found that when i ride double on my shee i blow out the top chain roller,but i also set my rear suspention up soft.
  16. these indains or the dumbest mother f-ckers i've heard of.if they closed sand mountain,half the economy in fallon would drop,what,do these dumd shits think people drive all the way to fallon to go to the casinos when reno is 1.5 hours closer to anything.ya way to go Tonto.
  17. i use nw sleeve before and the did a really good gob they blended everything real nice,i've used la sleeve and was not happy at all.
  18. i just bought new plug caps,ngk 5000 omh resistor type.my shee is a 97'which i beleive come with non resistor,anyways what plugs should i run?br8es or b8es?
  19. it turned out to be bad spark plug caps.$5.00 work of parts screwed up the last two trips to the dunes.
  20. i can swap but if i could test it first id rather,the resistance should tell me right?
  21. IF THE STATOR IS WEAK WOULD I BE ABLE TO TELL BY OHMING IT OUT?AND DO THE AFTER MARKET STATORS HAVE THE SAME RESISTANCE VALUE AS A STOCK ONE,I KNOW THE LIGHTING SIDE WILL BE DIFFERENT CAUSE IT'S A 200 WATT.
  22. my 97 shee keeps fouling plugs,i run for 20 minutes and everything is great then when i go to get on it,it sputters on the top end,(22hp loose on the dyno)i spent all weekend in pismo trying different things.i start 350 mains,worked up to 370 and then down to 330's,nothing helps ,but everytime i change plugs it would run great for 15 - 20 minutes,i changed plugs after every rejet.but the plugs i was pulling out all looked like they should work.not wet or overly carboned.so i changed my fuel ratio to 40-1,no help, so finally went to a hotter plug(br7es)thinking i might have a weak spark,well this helped alittle bit,i was able to run for about an hour and a half befor the plugs went bad.i'm pretty good with jetting and reading plugs,so i've pretty much eliminated that.any help would be great.
  23. I had vertex cast pistons,good for performance but you better change them out regularly because they shater,I switched to weisco pro lites and the performance was even better.

I'm actully pulling the same numbers your looking for,my shee has tons of bottom and mid range,i was pulling 58.3 rwhp until i put on the cool head and advanced my timeing to 4 deg.now i'm dueing 67.8 rwhp .call carlos at cg performance in san deigo 619 440 9494.tell hime Eli sent you.i swear by his motor work.i promise you'll love the motor after he is done.if you need my first dyon report i can e-mail it to you.the new one is with carlos for now.
