From Mild TO Wild! Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 What company's 4 mil crank should I not buy? What companays crank is worth the money? Quote
BigRed350x Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 I'd call kevin at HJR. He sells some very nice cranks. Quote
ban565 Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 Do not buy vitos and buy from twistercrankshaft Quote
94Mike Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 Is vitos that bad? What about their pistons? The forged super stocks I believe... Quote
blackedout96 Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 Vitos cranks are all I've ever used, know several other people that have had good luck with them too. Thats the only thing I buy from them though Quote
coryv4 Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 Is vitos that bad? What about their pistons? The forged super stocks I believe... i bought there pistons only to have it shatter in my cylinder and the other one had stress cracks in it Quote
volcrano Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 their pistons are the shit.forged superstocks are made by wiseco and have the vito patent for exhaust cutaway.those pistons really do add hp.u can feel the difference.m&m atv was having a real good deal on cranks.havent heard anything bad about them. From Mild TO Wild! Posted October 9, 2011 Author Report Posted October 9, 2011 I find it weird that Vito's is a hit or miss but people trust their cranks. Its only a bottom end its ok if its cheap made. Lol Quote

Yes because that mimmics a port job. The advanced exhaust port timing is what causes the extra power. A port job is the better way to achieve it vs cutting a piston head down. A real port job > vitos pistons. Quote
camatv Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 hot rods cranks are ok. i dont like vito's from what i have seen, wisecos' becuase of build quality and total lack of support after the sale by site sponsors twisters have had issues with breaking BUT that can also just be a bad run of steel but? i have personally ran crankworks preped stockers. HOTRODS preped by crankworks, and TDR strokers. Quote
lms1977 Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 knock on wood I run a vitos 10mil and have not had a problem I have about 8 days of hard hill climbing on it so far Quote
From Mild TO Wild! Posted October 10, 2011 Author Report Posted October 10, 2011 i'm just talking 4 mil cranks. Anyone ever used WSM 4 mil stroker cranks? They are forged and for $375 from bansheedepot.com im thinking its hard to beat. I can get a 4 mil stroker crank from herrjugs for $365 but it doesnt say if its forged or not. I'm trying to buy a good crank that will last and will perform and take trail riding abuse. Quote
