nihilism Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 My clutch basket bronze bushing seized to the spacer that rides on the transmission main axle. my kicker gear and primary driven gear are still in great shape and i would like to just replace the bushing and spacer instead of having to buy a whole new stock clutch basket assembly but after searching the forums, checking site sponsor web pages, and searching the internet i cannot find one anywhere. the closest i have found to anything is that K&T Performance carries the needle bearing upgrade but i tried going to there website and it is down. If anyone knows where to get one i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time. Quote
rubberneck Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 i know that jeff at FAST carries a lot of oem parts and they arent on his site. Give him a call i bet he has it Quote
jbooker82 Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 I think the probelm is that the bronz bushing is part of the gear on the back of the basket. So you have to buy the whole basket in order to replace it. Kind of like your have to with the kick starter Idler gear. Only jeff has found one you can press the old one out and put a new one in. Tedder Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 I can get bronze style bushings that are almost an exact match to oem but the only way for it to be cost effective is if someone was interested in a quantity. The bushings aren't a very popular item so I've not found anyone interested in stocking them. Quote
locogato11283 Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 It's easiest just to buy an old junk basket and pull the gear/bushing out of that. Check with NYUK. He's usually got a bunch of stuff laying around. I actually got two used baskets from him earlier this year. Quote

Tedder Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 I was really interested in the needle bearing setup for my asphalt bikes but the basket surface wasn't finished smooth enough. Quote

nihilism Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Posted October 1, 2011 OK I owe a big thanks to the site, the members, and the great site sponsors (Fast has some great parts and talk about fast shipping). Without all of you i would have had a lot harder time getting my new to me 03 shee fixed up and running. Ended up just getting a whole new basket/driven gear assembly btw. Got her running today and she runs good. Here is some pics of when i bought her, the destruction, and how she sits now. Thanks again to everyone for all the help and the great resources. https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658673661309312450 https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658673593176632818 https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658673871007270146 https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658674087643320434 https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658674072195815698 Quote
