  1. I had to call DG performance directly to purchase replacements for mine. Try giving them a call 1-866-653-1647. If I remember correctly they were good to work with it just took me a couple tries to get through.
  2. Thanks for posting what you figured out. Its too bad that its not cost effective.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure hard chrome has more of a dull look to begin with. It might defeat the purpose if the existing chrome is only sandblasted.
  4. No Problem, hope it works out for you.
  5. http://blog.eastwood.com/eastwood-chatter/10-tricks-to-remove-stripped-stuck-bolts/ Pretty much sums up most of the technique's. #6 works really well but idk if it would be possible to get a good enough ground to weld on whats left of the studs.
  6. Dont know if you already know this but make sure if you are going to fill it with anything oil base that you use rtv instead of pure silicone or your going to have a big mess on your hands.
  7. I posted how to build a cheap sync tool a while ago. Works good for me here is the link. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=151733&st=0&p=1311146&hl=+%20+how%20+build%20+carb%20+sync%20+tool&fromsearch=1entry1311146
  8. Not saying it couldn't be done but I'd like to see somebody make it up the bentonite nightmare here in billings Mt on a quad. That would be badass!!
  9. Here is another nice little reference compliments of yamaha. banshee color history
  10. I'm not preaching but wearing steel toe hiking boots is how i broke my foot in 3 places, my leg, and tore up my ankle. After that I always wear my boots if im jumping or racing. I used to wear half boots when my buddies and i all had pit bikes, never on a quad but they are a lot easier to shift with but obviously do not have the ankle/lower leg protection of a full boot. It all comes down to what kind of riding you are doing. I'm gonna try moving my shifter up a cog too and see how it works thanks for the idea.
  11. I ride mine to work all summer and worry about somebody stealing it because i work graves, this is what i do: #1. Big chain and lock (will at least slow them down) #2. Driveway alarm set where if some punk starts screwing with my banshee it rings the wireless alarm sitting on my desk so i can get the jump on them. http://www.harborfreight.com/wireless-driveway-alert-system-93068.html The wireless driveway alarms are cheap, work really good for all sorts of stuff, and if you put it in your bedroom you could be running out the door with a shotgun in no time and best of all it doesnt alert the crook Hope that helps.
  12. That sucks, not like my state is perfect but in mt I paid $150 and get permanent plates and a permanent ohv tag that's good for as long as you own your quad.
  13. I cant find this posted anywhere else and i thought it could help some people out so here's the link: Illustrated parts catalog Its for anything yamaha through all years by the looks of it.
  14. I used it on my banshee and it worked great. As long as you sync your carbs by eye first you shouldnt have to worry about sucking oil into the engine. P.S. Picklez&Beetz I cant get enough of that gif. I just keep watching it over and over and.... lol
  15. I built a carb sync tool for $7.50 worth of stuff at home depot im sure you can find this stuff anywhere. Found guys doing this on YouTube, its probably been posted before but i figured it was worth sharing it worked good for me but i don't know if it would work with anything but stock carb intake boots. What you need: 1- Yard stick 2- 3/16" barb x 1/4" MIP brass fittings 10' of 1/4 od pvc tubing electrical tape heat shrink Basically all you do is find the middle of the 1/4" pvc tubing the best you can and draw a line. Center the line in the middle of the end of the yard stick. I used electrical tape im sure zip ties would work great too, tape the pvc tubing up the sides of the yard stick keeping the 1/4" pvc tubing tight Pull the ends of the pvc tubing tight so they are even and cut them so they are even, the more even they are the better your results. Install the brass fittings on the ends of the 1/4" pvc tubing, i found that if you heat the pvc tubing under hot running water it makes them easier to install. Shrink wrap the brass fittings, this makes sure that they seal tight to the intake boots where the sync tube attaches. Finally, fill the tube with your favorite 2 stroke oil. Your final product should look similar to this: Now all you have to do is take out your intake boot sync tube and install the brass fittings into the hole in the intake boot. Use the clamps from the sync tube to clamp the brass fittings in the boots for an air tight seal. Start up your banshee and let it warm up, then tune your carbs until the 2 stroke oil level is the same on both sides. Feel free to post suggestions and comments, im new to the whole banshee thing so i am far from calling myself an expert on anything. That's it, hope it helps somebody.
  16. OK I owe a big thanks to the site, the members, and the great site sponsors (Fast has some great parts and talk about fast shipping). Without all of you i would have had a lot harder time getting my new to me 03 shee fixed up and running. Ended up just getting a whole new basket/driven gear assembly btw. Got her running today and she runs good. Here is some pics of when i bought her, the destruction, and how she sits now. Thanks again to everyone for all the help and the great resources. https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658673661309312450 https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658673593176632818 https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658673871007270146 https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658674087643320434 https://picasaweb.google.com/104116936116800411476/October12011#5658674072195815698
  17. Thanks for all the good ideas and quick responses. I'm happy to be part of the forums and a proud new to me banshee owner. I will let you guys know what i figure out come payday
  18. My clutch basket bronze bushing seized to the spacer that rides on the transmission main axle. my kicker gear and primary driven gear are still in great shape and i would like to just replace the bushing and spacer instead of having to buy a whole new stock clutch basket assembly but after searching the forums, checking site sponsor web pages, and searching the internet i cannot find one anywhere. the closest i have found to anything is that K&T Performance carries the needle bearing upgrade but i tried going to there website and it is down. If anyone knows where to get one i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time.
  19. I just bought a used banshee off of a guy that was doing the same thing you are describing... turned out that the clutch basket/primary driven gear/kicker gear brass bushing was seized to the spacer that rides on the main transmission axle and had seized to the transmission axle too. I removed my clutch pack and it still acted like the clutch was disengaged and then i tried to remove the clutch basked then the real fun began about 3.5 hrs later with a pen router and i had it all apart with a clean trans input shaft so i didn't have to split the cases. so if i was you i would pull the pressure plate and the clutch pack and see if it still acts like the clutch is disengaged if not may be you are lucky either way you can inspect everything for wear while you are in there. Im new to the whole banshee thing but this is what happened to me hopefully it helps you.
