Ok i just picked up a new pair of CPI's for 300 so i had to by them. anyways I know this is the worst question to ask but what would be a good starting point for jetting with these pipes on a basically stock shee. Thanks

Should of waited :/ to get the full power out of those cpi's you will be killing your enginge <_< anyways goodluck with the banshee

You will like the cpi's. They are like T5's on steroids. They do what the t5's do only rev out farther.

Which will kill his engine...which will cause more rebuilds. CPI are for dragers.....so obviously they're a top end pipe and they start at 7000 rpm and rev out and the engine shouldn't be doing that.... 2 strokes arent as good as four strokes climbing hills... t5 kick in at a lower rpm therefore giving him more power up hills, and thats what he needs

What makes you think the CPIs hit at 7K? They hit just about the same as T5s (5.5K-6K). The advantage to CPIs is that they provide more overrev than the Toomeys. I usually see the Toomeys start to sign off around 9.5K. If he follows through and does decide to build a 4mil, the CPIs will shine in every aspect over the toomeys.

I'll be working around the pipes. I usually ride in the high rpm range. Plus in the near future I'll be trowing a 4mill in with some drag porting So in the long run I think this will be the way to go that way I won't have to buy pipes 2x. Anyone know where I should start jetting at with these pipes

You wont want Drag porting for trail / dune riding..... Sound like you need to figure out what you really want.

I can assure you that a 4 mil drag ported shee with shearers is NOT going to be very trail friendly machine.

The CPI's are not necessarily a DRAG pipe, more of a MID to TOP pipe and will not kill your engine... That usually comes from lack of maintenance, improper jetting...etc etc

The CPI's or Rockets will kill the T5's and in my opinion sounds more like you are after something that rocks in the dunes and yet is trail ridable..

I dune/drag 80% of the time 20% is just hitting some open trails. I trail ride in Las Vegas so it's not like I'm in tight turns around trees and what not. Plus I ride at WOT most of the time regardless of where I'm at LOL

Yea, a drag port might be a little much for hills. I would start calling around to some of our sponsors and talk to them about YOUR needs and be honest with them. Once you've found a builder who you really feel comfortable with, send your parts out and let them work their magic!

You'll like the CPI's trust me. I run 100% dunes on mine and love them. They run great on my Agressive dune ported cylinders, and my friends CPI's run great on his stock port shee.. These pipes have great potential if you decide to build a bigger motor down the road.

As for jetting:

Whats your elevation? Stock carbs right?

Ok I picked up a pair of CPI's for 300 new but I also just picked up a new pair of FMF gold series orignal power core 1 for 100 bucks there old but new in the box so untill I have some porting done and my 4 mill I'll keep the FMF's on here's what it looks like now. Anyone have these and are they alright how do they compare to the T-5's

Yeah stock carbs and what ever the elevation is for Dumont. So far i just put some 220 mains in, air box is still on untill i can get some bigger jets. What size mains do you think I should run on these FMF's with no air box? Anyways I think it was a STEAL for a 100 bucks what do you think

fmf is a good pipe for mx track...toomey is a racing pipe that will beat fmf...pro circuit...paul turner... but they aren't the way to go if you wanna drag race....if you want to drag race go with cpi or the new snipers probably... i would prefer the t5 over the cpi on a 4mil ported banshee....you get more power with that setup.... With the stock engine you really shouldnt be pushing over 9000rpm...thats when cpi get there most power.. when the people use their cpi's is on their 421 cubs or above....those engines can pull farther which is what the cpi's are the best at without a doubt... t5 work at a lower rpm which provides the most power for the 4 mil ported banshee in my opinon T5 are also known to have the sweetest sound :headbang:

for an all around inframe non drag pipe i REALLY like the trinity's. i prefer them over the t-5's they will run excellent with a +4 mill stocker later also. the shears' and cpi's are a drag pipe they really need porting to work corectelly. if you oput them on your stock shee you will not like them much at all. BUT if you are wanting a drag pipe i also say the cpi's they are a lot less "peaky"

the assasins from what i understand are designed fore the 421 cub's, and similar cc cheeta's or i'd guess any high volume cylinder.

i'd love to get a set to play with.
