Help Relocating CDI and Coolant bottle?

I know people have been relocating their CDI's and possibly coolant bottles to clean the rear of the frame up. Does anyone have any pictures or write ups on how they did it. I cut off all the BS brackets today in prep for powdercoating and want to move the CDI and coolant bottle when I re-assemble the bike. Any help is appreciated!

I'm in the same boat as you right now. I did see a cdi relocation bracket on ebay a few days ago that looked decent but itis now gone. It looked like it mounted up under the hood some how. I could use some ideas also.

I am not to sure of the cdi.As far as the coolant bracket,alot of guys relocate that to the trash,including myself.No issues at all with anything.

I was going to ask this same question about a week ago, But I did a search first and it came up with a lot of pics and stuff that was usable. Just do a search for cdi relocation under repairs and mods and you'll get everything you need. As far as the coolant bottle goes from what I've read a lot of guys are just ditching them and running the line down so it empties on the ground I dont think I'm a fan of that but thats what I've read.

I plan on making a plate this week sometime, as I am in the middle of rebuilding my trail bike. I will make a post when its complete and ready for order. It will be very similar to the GB bracket and will mount the CDI, voltage regulator and coolant reservoir.

 

Dont hold me to the time frame, this week is insane busy for me... I will let u know when I finish the design.

Keep us posted on that JD. I'm going to be heading for the dunes on Presidents day weekend, if you don't have them done I'll just do a temporary fix until you have that bracket ready to go. I'll take one ASAP!

Nice! What exactly are the pros and cons of just "ditching" the coolant ressi? I ditched mine along time ago because it would never keep coolant in it. I read on here that it was useless but seriously what is it for? Ive had no problems at all with mine off either.
