  1. I'll stop on the way home and get a gauge. I just put a new top end in it a few rides ago....
  2. Tried the CDI as well as clipping a 1/4 off the plug wires. Neither worked. I'm leaning towards a bad ground or something. When I put the bike away after last trip it would start with a pull start but it won't now...that doesn't sound like a top end issue to me...but I'm a noob!
  3. I don't have a tester. Looks like I need to make one...
  4. Couldn't sleep so I got out of bed and swapped the coil....no luck. I'll try the CDI tomorrow.
  5. It wasn't the carbs and I didn't have time to swap the coil...looks like this bike isn't making the trip.
  6. I'm going to start with that tonight. I't really seems like a gas issue to me as well but you never know with these things! Banshee's are a love/hate relationship and right now it's a lot of hate! I'll post results after I get done working on it tonight. Thanks for the input guys!
  7. I'll check the compression tomorrow. I had a top end done two years ago...but thats only 4-5 trips ago. I usually only make it to the dunes 1-2 times a year.
  8. Hey guys...looking for some tips here. I went to start my banshee as we are getting ready to head to Coos Bay this weekend. I'll give you a little background of the last trip. The bike randomly wouldn't start for me in the last day of the last dune trip. I was able to ride but had to pull start it every time. I ordered a new stator thinking that may be the issue. I procrastinated and didn't install it until today. The last trip was in the fall. After putting the new stator in today the bike would still not fire. It is popping like it wants to start but then will not start. We tried to pull-start it (worked last ride) but not even close to starting...not even a pop. I'm getting spark at the head....gas to the carbs. Other than that I'm not sure what I should check next. I do have two other running banshees in the garage. I'm thinking I should swap out the coil or cdi next. The carbs are pretty old, so maybe that is the issue. I can't wrap my mind around why it wouldn't pull start like it did when I rode it into the trailer to end the last trip. I'm running out of time and should of already had this thing in the trailer ready to leave on Thursday. Any tips are much appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Maury is great. I'd recommend giving him a call as well.
  10. I looked into PC'ing my wheels and it was almost as expensive as buying some new black wheels......I went with the cheap route of painting them and it holds up pretty well riding in the sand. I usually touch them up every couple of trips.....However, I will be buying new wheels/tires soon.
  11. My girlfriend bought that for me for Christmas at a local bike shop. It's made by Scorpion and is available online.
  12. Thanks man....I actually bought the fabric online and then took it to an upholstry guy here in Seattle who did the work for me! I am really happy with how it turned out....I'm thinking about having some more made and selling them.
  13. I shopped around and ended up getting a pretty good deal. We did two bikes at once and it was $250/bike. That included sandblasting as well as all the misc. parts! Good luck
  14. Here's mine as of now.....I'm switching to Haulers though....
  15. You must have better luck than me!! I tried those hoses and they held up for about an hour.....then all of a sudden the damn thing popped off and I was SOL!! Any trick that I might have missed??
  16. Your YFZ and his Banshee are not even comparable. The YFZ looks really good bro!
  17. You guys must have really hurt ol subi's feelings....that ugly ass bike was on Craigslist in Portland last month!!
  18. Thanks for all the feedback guys! I painted the plastics with Krylon Fusion for plastic. It's holding up just fine other than a little bit where the plastics have hit from installing them....really not noticable but I will definitely be putting a full bore front on soon just so I don't have to be so carefull putting the three front peices on. I saved the old gold wheels with the dirt tires for testing/tuning purposes on the road.
  19. Thanks guys! The frame is candy red and everything else is flat black. The paint didn't hold up that well where the different peices touch so I think I'm going to order a full bore front end soon.
  20. As planned I just finished completely tearing down my bike and doing my first major overhaul on it. The build was mainly cosmetic. I found a really good powdercoater here in the Seattle area, had JD make me a sick grill which I added a little twist to. Took the bike down to Florence Oregon to the dunes this weekend and the thing ripped! I'm really stoked with the look of the bike and think you guys will like it! BEFORE!! BUILD PICS Of course I had to have JDS make me a custom grill!!! Custom Ostrich Seat
  21. I am still waiting on them to get shipped. I'll let you know as soon as I get them and try them.
  22. The ones I found which I liked they didn't have for Banshee's but they did have them for 450's which I'm pretty sure will work....at least I hope because I just bought them online.....Thanks
  23. I'm looking at buying some shock covers and was wonder if Raptor shock covers will fit???? Thanks!
  24. Thanks for the help. It was already sold which is a good thing it sounds like. I'll buy a new one soon!
