  1. Agree, you might have to go up higher on the pilots....Larger pilots will help it start a lot better..make sure you didn't swap the carb bowls either...only one carb bowl is for the carb w/ the choke..
  2. I think you answered your own question.....get the gnarlies...match the porting to the pipes...low end pipe w/ low end porting...
  3. Try a 380 main and go from there....I don't think 2 sizes will make enough difference if they are that light....As far as starting hard....thats odd considering you have a 30 pilot....try turning the air screws in to .5 turn from seated...make sure you didn't swap the carb bowls..only one carb bowl has the little jet and brass tube for the choke of the left carb......
  4. I'll let you know next week when I get my motor back....
  5. I'll take a non-smoking room. You can put my name if you want..Jason Labonte. If you need money Rod, let me know....Thanks guys, I've been busy as hell trying to get work caught up, since this drive will kill a lot of my time and days....I'm still rolling though!!!!!
  6. Are you selling all 3 shocks or just the fronts??
  7. Rear Axis?? How much?? Weight of rider and valving?
  8. You'll be surprised how much more the filter will breathe....There is differences between the twin K&N pods compared to the single, so that might tell you something....
  9. Isn't much difference... the 14/38 is a taller gear, but not by much...A 14/39 is almost the same as a 15/42.....
  10. the rod is tight??? Lower bearings are siezed also??
  11. I agree w/ boony and ducky..... Your problem is detonation....91 octane is border line w/ 20cc domes. I'd run larger domes to start w/ and check the jetting....Toomey is way off on the jetting charts and I'd start there and run it rich to start and work down after break in w/ plug chops....Depending on the air box and filter setups, we can get you very close to the jetting and determine your compression from there....
  12. Sounds like your lean on the jetting....Running out of fuel at wot...Do a plug test at wot and pull the plugs...What are your mods and jetting??
  13. Why would you want the stock filter anyways?? Get a K&N, let the shee breathe....Great $35 mod
  14. I see most people on here are comparing stock pipes to toomeys......ANY pipe is a huge gain over stock....not much of a comparison....
  15. I rejetted my banshee this weekend for taking the air box lid off and a colder weather. Mods are: Air box: adapter plate W/Twin air foam filter W/ foam outerware FMF Gnarlies Jetting: Elevation 300'-600' Temp 40 to 60 degrees F. #30 pilots, air screws 2.5 out Needles stock position (3rd clip down) #290 mains I thought #290's might be a tad on the rich side but they were perfect . Did a plug chop, 2mm brown band at the base of the electrode, goes in the band quick no hesitations, pulled hard all the way to the top of 6th in sandy conditions. I talked with a local yamaha shop when getting a couple of sparkplugs to sacrafice for the plug chop and they said that the Gnarlies, Fatties, and SST's all jet pretty close to the same. With a K&N I'd say you should be pretty close to my settings on the pilot, possible raise the needle one clip, and +4 on the mains which would put you at 330 on the mains. If your colder than 40 deg. then possibly one more size on the main and if your at 1500' ele. or more then minus one size on the main. Whatever you do decide to jet it at, do a plug chop, that is the only reliable method to tell if your jetting is adequate. If your air screws like to be 2.5 turns out, then I'd drop your pilots to a 27.5. I bet you'll have better throttle response and better low end...You'll also have more adjustment for summer..you should turn the screws in for winter and out for summer...I find the best pilot size is when the air screws like to be between 1-1.5 turns out....good luck
  16. 2 questions, has this just started since you made a change w/ the jetting or has this been the problem? Also, is your tors still connected?? Little black box above the left exhaust??
  17. Duncan, LRD, Grand River, Patriot Racing, etc....there are quite a few. Crank weld is around $75 and porting is between $400-$550.
  18. I'd start w/ 350 mains, and 30 pilots....The clamp ons are great as long as you don't ride in water.....
  19. I'd try a 38-40 pilot and adjust the air screws......most likely your waaayyy to rich on the pilots..
  20. I think you should buy my '01 GSXR750, fast, beautiful, light, great gas mileage, cheaper insurance then the 900's and 1000's...
  21. If you lowered the clip, then you've richen it and should have improved the throttle response, your next step will be to adjust the air screws and try that. Start w/ .5 turn out from seat, then try 1 turn out, then 1.5, 2, 2.5 and see where the shee likes to be...If it likes the .5 or less, then try a larger pilot (27.5) and readjust the air screws......also do you clean your filter w/ K&N cleaner?? Detergents will clog the guaze in a K&N filter...make sure you use the spray oil also..I've seen people use motor oil and that'll clog the K&N also.....
  22. It says "just front shocks"....does this mean you want to sell just the front shocks?? What type of riding are they valved for? How much weight is the rider they are valved for??
  23. I agree, try some new gas, then check to make sure your getting fuel to the carbs.....pull the hose off the carb and see if gas pours out freely..if not, then the filter or petcock on the tank is plugged. If there is plenty of fuel, then clean the carbs thoroughly w/ an air compressor, I'd even put the fuel hose on and see if the floats are working properly before putting the carb bowls back on......
  24. check your compression, thats a good sign that you might be low.....
  25. what happened to "never been taken apart"??!!!!!
