Hey Guys 'n' Girls Im New!
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Lanis Nipo's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I think I saw some pictures of kick ass riding spots in the Dominican Republic on this site once. Spectacular place. Riding through banana trees n shit on this white sand. What are your riding spots like in Hawaii? I can't imagine there not being some place to ride in a proverbial paradise. Oh, and welcome to BansheeHQ, and to the sport of ATVing. Some tips would be things like, if you are going to own a banshee, get a Clymers Manual. Wear a helmet. Get to know your atv before you try any Evil Kenival type stuff. Mostly hang around these boards for some great info, and if you have a question, feel free to use the search function, post it in the appropriate forujm, or PM someone with a question. Most of all have fun. ~Stan~ -
I understand what you mean about the eye candy. Its like my local Chevy dealer. They drape their show room in their Vettes and custom jobs to attract people. I saw an anniversary addition SS Camaro go for like $48,000+ because it looked great on the show room floor. They added some shit like front subframes and rims and sruff like that I have to admit, I've never seen $1.5m look better than that. Are you an interior decorator too? Or did you just put up what you wanted to? The place looks fabulous. Makes me want to get in a band again and beat myself 10 hours a day trying to get something done with 4 others that don't really care...... LOL. Looks good Jim.

The only studio I had ever been in was about the size of a small house. By house I mean shed. It had maybe $20-30K in equipment, and actual room to put our shit up in was maybe 25x25. It turned out great for the $600 we spent 10 years ago. You studio looks like its the shit man!!!!!!!

i just had a horrible mental image of a musclebound machinist on a banshee wearing a onesie. they were a limited addition. one time print only, from TWISTED 2STROKE. they are bad ass though. LOL!!!! I think I'd get some strange looks, and a few unwanted phone numbers.

Anyone Up For Another Bhq Get Together?

Looks like I'll be bringing the hand cannon. I have an aluminum attache case for the gun, and a bullet box that I can lock. I'll just make sure the clips are unloaded and in the bullet box. I don't think I'll have room for anything to shoot up though. I plan on bringing as much fire wood as my truck can handle with my banshee in the bed. I have a long bed, so I should be able to have room for 4-5 gas jugs, tons of fire wood, etc. If things go well, I should have my tax return to me before the middle of Feb. If thats the case, you can put my name on that list 3 times Walt. -
Cute kids!!! A buddy of mine just taught his 2 1/2 year old how to have a seizure and mumble like a crazy person. The kid is like a parrot. You show him once, and you're entertained for the rest of the evening. Where can I find one of those Onesies in my size? That'd make some phresh riding gear.

I fear the tree huggers out lawing 2 strokes. I know its already going to happen, but I don't see a reason for it. Look at how many engines are 2 stroke, and how often are they ran. How long are they running too??? They've (who every "they" are) already banned snow mobiles in Yellowstone AGAIN, and Yellowstone isn't that far from St Anthonys in Idaho. Its going to be a sad day when 2 strokes aren't produced anymore. I bet some of these top notch engine builders will have a way to reproduce them though. I fear my riding areas being closed down because of a weed someone thinks might be getting run over. A weed that has survived LIVING OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NO GOD DAMN WHERE FOR CENTURIES!!!!! I also fear trashing my banshee again. Its been a real pain in the ass rebuilding it this time.

Can Anyone Answer My Question?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to bansheeboy7's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Depends on gearing, horsepower and tire size. All stock I would think its 70-75 tops----flat ground, good traction, you laying down on the tank. -
K, you guys are psychic. Today on my way to the 7-11 for a well deserved Big Gulp, I was listening to Super Tramp... That song that goes..."Take the long way home". I've always been a fan of Super Tramp and Boston for their music, but also the quality of sound thats been recorded, BACK IN THE 70'S!!!! You compare that to another great band, Corrosion of Conformity, and they sound like they recorded that in someones storage unit. Listen to any of Bostons music, or Super Tramp, then listen to something like Machine Head. The guys drums sound like card board boxes. Its sooooo amazing to me the difference. Some other albums I like for the sonic quality are the first 2 Pantera albums, and Megadeth-Rust In Piece and newer albums. When I had a system in a Tahoe I owned, you could hear and feel every little thing with out tweaking anything in the truck. Some of the other bands, like Machine Head, I could just never adjust it enough to compensate for what was recorded.

Advantages/disadvatages Of Shocks With Res's?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to 01bansheefox's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Cool post Deuce!!! -
I had something similar happen where me and my little sister and my buddy were riding up to Willard Peak (11,000 ft or so) We go around this corner, and some drunk f*ck on a bike nearly hits my buddy (who was leading) head on. He gets back on his own side of the rode, only to ride head on into my little sister. We all get stopped and(except for my buddy, he was long gone by then) this dumbass starts yammering about how he's going to kick so and so's ass. If it weren't for my little sister in the way, I would have just blown around him, because I saw what happend. He was cutting deep inside a corner, and he was riding an early 80's (?) Kawasaki. 2 violations right there.

So basically if the FishCops see you acting like a moron in and around a camp, they will stop you?? Its like that at St Anthony and Sand Mountain during the holidaze. Out into the dunes away from camp, they really don't care unless you are littering, posess glass bottles, or driving an on road vehicle into the dunes at St. A. At SandMountain I've seen them pull over people driving excessively fast infont of the face and north sides of Sand Mountian, but when you have 30,000 people there, 80% of which are probably drinking, its a good thing. I don't have spark arrestors either btw. -
I saw a stock stator cover that someone put a hole in, the epoxied a piece of clear plastic (plexi? acryllic?) into.

I had "someone" put a "corporate copy" of Windoze XP on this hunk of shit I use, and although it consumed most of the precious HD space that I had, I don't regret it. I'm constantly getting low drive space errors, but thats only because I had "someone" put a "corporate copy" of PhotoShop on there too. It runs better, shuts down, and starts up quicker too. I do plan on putting a bullet in it (courtesey of the .44mag DE) for previous crimes such as blue screens and locking up on me however. I sentenced it to death a couple years ago, and unfortunately there is no pardoning in this court. Especially if it means I get to go shooting.

Direct Drive CNC can modify your clutch case side, and provide you with the clear cover if I remember correctly.

Knocking In The Transmission Side
Cotton eyed Joe replied to usafbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Is it a loud knock or a quiet knock? I think the water pump can make a light knocking sound. I don't know %100 though. -
Need Suggestions On Sand Paddles
Cotton eyed Joe replied to fixitrod's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I have 20" 8 paddle tires on 10 inch rims right now, and they are fine for a stock bike, but now that I'm a not so seasoned pro, I am hopefully going to upgrade to 21x12x8 8 paddle extremes haulers. I liked the 20 inchers, and I can still get them to hook up well in the sand with my 55-60ish HP. What I'm looking for now is more cushion for the landings, and less dings in the bead. I have a rubber ballast hammer that I take to the dunes to beat the lip of the rim back to where its supposed to be after every 3rd or 4th trip. With a 20" tire and 10" rim, thats 5" of sidewall. A 5" rock is not a very big rock, and most roots near trees and shit at the dunes can stick out that far if you go into a grove or small forest like they have near Sand Mountain Ut. 21" tire on an 8" rim would give me 6.5" of sidewall. And inch and a half might just make all the difference in the world. -
Will I Regret Selling The Bansh For A Raptor?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to LTZ Killa's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'd say if you shop right you'd be able to rebuild the top end and change the crank seal for $200 bucks; given you do the work yourself. You can get a deal on ebay for some pistons ($120) and I'd just run to the stealership and pick up your gaskets and seals($50). If you pick up a Clymers manual it will walk you through the whole process step by step, and tell you which tools you need. Took me about a weekend's time working lazily. Depeding on what seals you are looking for, I think I know someone that can get them at a better price than Yamaha -
Lifting And Weight Training
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Stylemaster's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I workout at least 4 times per week. I break up by workouts by bodypart. First day is leg day. I hate it, so its first. Deadlifts, both stiffleg and traditional (sometimes both on the same day) leg presses, leg extentions, leg curls. I do as many as I can, then I push for 2-3 more reps. Those extra reps will knock you on your ass, but you will know you did something the next day. Chest day is next. Warm up with dumbell flys or something, then I either free weight bench or use a machine. Either way just get a nice full contraction, and dont let your arms go down too far. I don't touch the bar to my chest, I let my arms make a 90deg bend, and thats about it. Maybe a little further, but its bad on the rotators. I'll also do some front delt excersise like front raises. You hold a dumbell in your hand line you are going to curl it, except you keep your arm stiff, and raise it up to about eye level. I also do military presses while I working chest. Throw some dips or cable cross overs in there every now and again. Back day follows. I do seated rows, pulldowns, sometimes I do unilateral rows with dumbells. I also do trap shrugs and some rear delt movements. One I like is I grab an EZ Bar, hold it in my hands, palms up, and I bring my hands to just above my waist line. You'll feel that in your traps. This is sometimes my last day, Biceps, Tripceps, and I finish out my medial delts. Basically I curl pronated, supinated and hammer style. Just kind of do what I feel since they have been hammered by back day. Same with triceps. Theres really only one movement you can do for biceps or tricepts. Flex the muscle with some weight on it. Curls and extensions. I also work abs every other day and calfs on back day. And lately I've just started doing 30minutes of cardio before each workout, even on leg day. I'm sure there are somethings I forgot, but basically thats my workout schedule, and I don't always do all the excersises listed. Most of the time I choose 2-3, and if I feel like I can do a little more, I'll do one more. In body building sometimes less is more on the reps, weight and number of sets. I will also go in 2-3 week cycles now of 4-6 reps (heavy weight) 10-12 reps (medium weight) and then 18-20 reps (light weight) Honestly the 2 weeks of 18-20 reps kicks my ass. Its funny to see too. I'll be curling 30 or 35 lb dumbells and be exhausted, and some girl is next to me curling 25's. Or benching 135lbs or less for 20 reps. -
I hope to start on a drag bike next winter. I have the frame, now all I need is about 10 grand.

I'll keep my eyes crossed for you man. Glad to hear they Next Daying it to you. Thats the least they could do.

Consider this topic moved. Seriously.... Call them tomorrow, if you have the patience, and go through this again. See if you get the same answer. Its also wise to collect the names or employee numbers of people you talk to. This story sounds similar to what I went through this summer. I had problems with Utah Power not reading my meter. I call the 1-800# and I talk to some woman in Oregon. She proceeds to tell me I can read my own meter. I tell her I won't. Its why I pay a power bill. This happens about 6 times until I get a letter telling me that they are going to relocate my meter and bill me for it if I dont clear the obstruction. There are 2 gates, one on each side of my house to access the back yard. I talk to my buddy (who is a meter reader in the area around my shop) about this, and he tells me the 1-800# is a BS line. No business ever gets done, they just talk to irate cusomters. THATS IT. He gave me his supervisors office number, and within 2 days (after mentioning the Divison of Consumer Affairs) I had someone with some brains come out to read my power meter. You might need to do some snooping to find out who is in charge in your area. Is there a local UPS driver you can talk to about who his boss is or someone you could call directly rather than the complaint number? The UPS driver that shows up to my shop usually has enough time to bullshit for a minute or two. Good luck Lefty

Does it say what exit you take? I'm coming from Utah, but I'll take the same exit and turn right.
