  1. I think thats the new start up and shut down sounds on this computer, and the one at work. THANKS!!!!!!
  2. ILL TAKE TWO!!!!!!!!
  3. Doesn't your shift shaft need the support of the stator cover? I was under the impression (and just by looking at it) that it creates a "single shear" situation in which the shift shaft could not only be rotated, but bent as well from a heavy footed shift.
  4. Look under "steel suppliers" in the phone book/yellow pages. If you live in PA, you're in the steel capitol of the US. Dont buy it out of a catalog like Chassis Shop etc. You'll just end up raped.
  5. HI MATT JOHNSON!!! Welcome to BansheeHQ.
  6. cool thanks boonie/stan...i change gears and have a -2 peg set up....im changing something, seems like every weekend.......the stock stuff is way too soft... You're welcome. Sad to say, soft is cheap, thats why they do it. I've stripped a lot of bolts on this thing, and I've tried to replace as much as I can with grade 5 or grade 8 bolts. I hate "butter" bolts. They cause more trouble than they are worth.
  7. Deuce, go get yerself a hand full of zip ties. Honestly (Like Nyuk and Boon) I would tap it out to 7/16-20 and use some cap bolts. Its "U" size drill incase you are wandering....well...lemme double check that at work. I use a 7/16-20 on my billet pegs to assemble them, and I'm sure its a U size drill.
  8. Agreed. I make most of the money in my shop on labor. Mostly because the price of materials bought and processing can be expensive. Typically on a job worth abour $15k, my shop will see a net profit of 20% or so. Not always, however, some are higher netting percentages, and some are complete losses. Owning your own business is worth it in my opinion, but be prepared to work your ass off.
  9. I just installed my rear line, and I will be doing the front stainless when my shit from Eastwood gets to my shop. In the past, I had problems bleeding the fronts, but DAYUM!!! look at how long they are. Start with the longest line Squeeze the lever. WAIT ABOUT 15 SECONDS. Release the 8mm check valve. WAIT ABOUT 15 SECONDS. Close the valve. Release the lever. Repeat. I tried it too quickly once, said to hell with it, and the next day my dad said "got those done for you" He just went real slow, as in keeping the lever pulled in longer before opening the check, leaving the check opened longer. He's had motorcycles since he was 13, and his way worked a hell of a lot better than my way did.
  10. I'm not familiar with the specific breed, but my parents had a black lab mix, my sister has a black lab, my buddy has a yellow lab, and my wifes friend has a yellow lab. GASSY summa bitches. Lab farts WILL clear the room. You won't realize it until you are half way out the door just on an instinctual reaction the body has to save itself. They are some of the funnest dogs in the world though. Thats about all I know. Get a tennis ball and the thing will be your friend for life. My buddies will climb a tree on command, and my wifes friends dog will bark 1,2,3,4,5 times depending on how many fingers you are holding up. Very entertaining friends to have. I hope to get a chocolate lab in the next few years.
  11. I adjust my sag by taking a good look at the girl that runs the gas station by my work If you're talking about a stock rear shock, use a spanner wrench. Either buy an adjustable/universal type, or measure the distance (diameter) between the outside ears, and the distance (diameter) between the grooves and get ye to an Ace Hardware or an auto parts store with yer measurements. Have someone help you if you cant find it. Spanner Wrench. Get one.
  12. At St Anthonys, you can look at Egin "Lake" or stare at a wheat field from some of the dunes. Not much scenery
  13. STLBill, I know from a customer that comes into my shop every now and again, but the ATV industry is right around 8,000,000 units per year.
  14. Up at St.Anthonys we were catching salamanders the last time we went. We were trying to keep them from jumping in the fire, CAUSE THEY STINK when they burn up. I enjoy being out in the desert. I always have. My parents have a cabin that is in the high deserts of eastern Utah, and I've gone there since I was 10. Its the feeling (like you said) of being somewhere, that perhaps no one has ever set foot, or even eyes on in quite some time, if ever. The dunes and the desert are a humbling experience. I get to see how insignificant I can be standing next to 3,000,000 tons of sand, and just the vastness of it all is amazing as well. Amazing that there isn't a home developer within 200 miles.
  15. HAHAHAHA!!!! I like the date on mine. Friday, October 13, 2028
  16. LOL I can see some parents out on a street corner...PSST!!! Hey, you got any christmas time I can score?
  17. Didn't Mike Schenker also play for the Scorpions, or am I thinking of someone else?
  18. Little Sahara in Utah is just over 38,000 acres if I remember right, and St Anthonys is around 45,000 acres. Sand mountain is around 800 feet to the top, but I think only about 600 is rideable. At St. Anthonys I have no idea how tall those dunes are, but I can think of 3-4 that are ENORMOUS. Especially Choke Cherry and Devils Bowl. I couldn't make it up Choke Cherry with my stock pipes. I had a milled head and lightened flywheel with advanced timing, and it would not make it. Once I had the T-5's it went up it quite well.
  19. I have 2 steel bushings on my upper shock mount (1/2 of a bushing on each side), and on the bottom as well. I have found that the rear suspension squeak is caused by the linkage itself. I loosen it, then retorque it and it goes away for the rest of the week end. Then I take it apart at home and re grease it.
  20. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!
  21. I made a spring compressor to compress the shock and springs, then I used an open end wrench on the Type 1 Cad plated nut thing, and a cresent on the mounting point to take them off. Then I released the spring and took it to a chrome shop. The stockers look powder coated to me. That chit is thick. I don't know about it chipping from movement. That spring coil is like 3 feet long if you un coiled it, and it only moves about .5", if that, from coil to coil. I think you would be okay with chrome paint or powder. It just depends on what you want. Durability (powder) Cheaper cost (paint) or Shine (chrome).
  22. HAHA! I listen to AM talk radio at work, and then pummel my ears on the way home with music.
  23. my wife is ultra cool......and NOBODY will be giving us any money...when we have guests at the house, thats just what they are..i would be insulted if anyone offered us any money for a shower or meal.....but you will have a great dane puppy lick your face while you sleep and a 9 year old boy telling you his CR-85 will smoke your shee.......and probally have to play a little "off road fury" and "grand theft auto".....but the beer will be cold...... I thought that picture you put up was a Great Dane. A buddy of mine had a dog that was a black and white spotted Great Dane. She was a cool dog. It had one blue eye and one (well 2) brown eye. That dog was the lickingest dog ever. You couldn't sit down to play the Offroad Fury with out a big slobbery tongue getting in the way. It was like getting slapped in the face with a wet towel.
  24. I grew up listening to an ass load of Anthrax, and Ozzy. To this day Scott Ian and Zakk Wilde are still the best guitar players in the world to me. I hope to score the new Black Label Society here in the near future.
  25. Mild Steel (1018, 1024, 1040, 1045) has a tensile strength of/around 30,000 psi. Chromoly (4130, 4140, 4340) has a tensile strength of/around 60,000 psi. Twice the strength. It isn't however lighter. Builders and fabricators like myself use around 1/2 as much to get the same strength, and there is where your weight savings comes from.
