    impact my friend. no need for loctite or anyting else. all you need is an impact and a good woodruff key. also, why did you time it by ear? the timing plate should have marks on it. line them up where the cases split with whatever timing you want.

    go with some keihins. they are super easy to tune and most people on this site run them. that makes it easy when you go to jet them because someone here is almost guaranteed to have about the same setup.. if not, we can get you close anyway.

    the rear is 4/115 and the front is 4/156. so on the rear from center of bolt to center of bolt should be about 4.5 inches.. on the front from center of bolt to center of bolt should be about 6.1 inches.. if you have some calipers just check them.
