  1. Brooke you need to relax, your getting all stresed out over this issue, what you need is someone who will agree with your views and understand the point your trying to get across. Im really a non-denomination,but would be willing to ROLE play as a republican just for you. That is if your into that sort of thing
  2. I'm not really sure how,but the fuel bowls were swapped.Been like that since I bought the carbs off Ebay over a year ago.Never used them until I picked up this other banshee. The little gold ball(air bleed) caught my eye today when I was rerouting the wire harness for the engine. Then it all came together.I was soo pissed,I never checked to see if the fuel bowls were on the right side,I bought the carbs and I was told they came off a running banshee. When I changed jets,I didn't even notice it The banshee can be a bitch to start with a non-operating choke. After the swap, she started on first kick at half choke.Thats what happens when you get too high before doing any major assembly. My advice...work first..toke later.
  3. How the hell do you think I ended up in there?I tried to keep more of my money too
  4. If you knew what I do,you wouldn't want to pay taxes either. You wouldn't believe the money thats thrown away in the federal prison system every year and not on food and housing. It would make you think differently about our goverment and the way they misuse our taxes. Obviously you don't work or are too young to,someday you will understand too.
  5. Thats a pretty hard decision,if it wasn't for the 2 kids I have (2 banshees)and one on the way,I probably would. I spent 2 years in jail,so I can tell you that sleeping in and not working is overated.
  6. We as americans are all slaves to our goverment. You pay taxes don't you.I am a free American, free to pay taxes to the Goverment,if I choose not to then I am persecuted and my freedom is revoked, sounds like communism to me
  7. Alright then explain this if you can: My 87' starts easy if it was started earlier in the day or even in the morning. It can sit all day and by nighttime it will still fire on one kick. If I wait till the following day,it takes about 10 good kicks even with full choke to get her started. She runs and idles great and shows no sign of hesitation anywhere. It even puffs out a little bit of smoke at idle After shees warmed up. It doesn't bother me since it doesn't effect performance and a fresh plug will produce a tanish brown color if I just let it idle fo 5 minutes after warm-up.Basically everything looks good. The compression is 185psi and I usually run 110.Any ideas Banchetta?Could the compression cause this/Or maybe the fuel? Its got me scratchin my head.
  8. I agree,I think that any clutch is only as good as the springs. At least go with some ebc, moose or barnett springs
  9. I think its too late for that shit bag,you dug your own grave, now lie in it! Sparkzilla, let us know if he renegs on those wheels.
  10. Brooke, have you seen the state that russia is currently in right now, sure they are free, its what they wanted. Now they are able to own their own businesses, homes and are no longer told what to do.Unfortunately, there are no jobs,no heat in there homes and millions of people are out of work. Why you ask?cause the communist goverment that controlled and employed them is no longer there. The good thing about the communist goverment was they made sure there was work for everyone. There are more people starving and jobless in Russia now than there was when it was under Communist rule. What good is freedom if you must live in poverty.Communism worked in Russia,it may not have been the best form of goverment...but it worked.Look at Russia now without communism and tell me what you see. What you see is people who are free to own their own piece of the pie,but don't have the money to purchase it.As I said before,Democracy doesn't work everywhere. Don't get me wrong,I loved Reagan and we had to show the world that we could put an end to the cold war and communism.I don't know if you were old enough to remember that speech he gave asking them to tear down the wall, but I'll never forget him for that and to this day still remember where I was when I saw it.I was in awe. And babe,if you think that any presidential hopeful now or in 4 years is going to have anything to do with Iraq, your dead wrong. The best hope for Iraq is to let Bush stay in office to see it through. Which we know can't happen because he's only allowed 4 more years and he probably needs 10
  11. It will be a good start, but not the best way to solve the problems goin on over there. The problem is Bush thinks that he can change that political system overnight, which in reality will take 2 decades and 2 more presidents. The problem is the next president will not put forth the effort nor attempt to pick-up where bush left off.this will become another korea or vietnam where we spent way too much money time and most important, loss of life fighting for. It will take alot more than 4 more years to change Iraqs current state of goverment and I wouldn't be surprised if the newly elected leaders are assasinated.Probably more than one of them. Some countries need to be ruled with an Iron fist. Its sad to say but its true.Too many uneducated people and religous beliefs will always plauge the way of life over there. History repeats itself and this war is looking more and more like wars of the past.Bush will not be able to get it done and it won't be his fault,He's just going to run out of time.
  12. I'm about 1.5 or 1 3/4 turns out and with a K&N I would have needed a 32.5,I didn't have it so I just switched to a dual stage foam which I had lying around.I have a little more comp than you do (185psi)I don't know if that makes a difference or not,I would think it should not. My my 01' is basically the same as yours with PC pipes,V-force,+4,milled head and pro flow foam.I needed a 310 main 27.5 pilot,2nd clip from top and 1.5 turns out on the screws.Neither machines ran good with 25 pilots.
  13. Like he said, they will fall into place, but make sure the surface was clean and there were no "burrs" from where they puched out the reeds.Sometime theres a fine edge on the corner of the reeds.Use a razorblade to gently scrape it off.. When you run your finger over the edge of the reeds, you'll feel one side has a sharper edge than the other, that side should go down on the block.
  14. With the exception of a foam filter and rad valves,my set-up is exactly like yours.I can't run anything less than a 30 pilot.I'm running 310 main 30 pilot needle in stock location and lightly modded airbox. Try bumping your pilot or playing with the screws a bit.Temps and elevation should be close to you.
  15. Democracy doesn't work everywhere, but as a country who believes Democracy is the only way,we feel it will work everywhere.Which is not true. Some countries need Dictators, not necessarliy the type of Dictator Saddam was,but when those dictators start to gain too much power, there progression needs to be slowed, even stopped. He just got to greedy, just like Hitler did. They had the 4th largest army in the world and felt like they had a fighting chance. In the words of Sam Kinison:"How F-ing scary are you if your number 4"
  16. All I buy is Craftsman, with the exception of "specialty" tools that craftsman doesn't offer.Snap-on,Mac,Matco,Cornwell,etc are all overpriced and waste of money IMO. Companies like craftsman offer the same quality with a "no bitch policy",meaning the will replace dam near anything.Snap-on,on the other hand refused to replace a couple screwdrivers for me because the butts had some slight scuff marks and accused me of using them as a chisel.I told them thats what my china brands were for. They refused replacement. Another incident was with a 1/2 inch ratchet which fell from a cars fender onto the ground. The ratcheting mechanism was damaged and a snap-on agent asked me if I was using it for a hammer.C'mon who would use a 100+ dollar ratchet for a hammer I said.I was so disgusted and pissed off that I paid my tab on the spot and told him to never set foot in this shop again. You can but the best box craftman has to offer and every hand tool they make for the price of a Snap-on or Mac box thats empty. So why buy the snap-on or mac box?Your mechanical abilities is how your percieved as a mechanic, not the make of your toolbox. Just for an example:I purchased a set of craftsman wrenches at a garage sale many years ago for 5 bucks. The wrenches themselves were probably 20+ years old and so rusty you could hardly make out the sizes. The guy at sears told me to pick out a new one for every one I had.Now thats a good tool company.
  17. Check your front ends on both machines thoroughly.Check the bushings, tie rods and ball joints. The easiest way to check the ball joints is to remove the shocks, grasp the upper and lower a-arm and try pulling them in opposite directions. If you feel some slop, then isolate them by holding the spindles and doing each a-arm individually as you run the a-arm through its operating range. Also check the a-arm bushing and swingarm and linkage bearings.Everything should be tight.Don't hesitate to replace a bearing/bushing if it has some slop in it.Too much clearance in one bearing will lead to the destruction of other bearings, frames, axle bearings ect. I agree with Joe,keep them clean and its easier to see where a potential problem may occur.Go through all of your electrical connetions also.Alot of people neglect this simple procedure and they can't figure out why there shee died on them.Remove every connection and brush the dirt off the connecters.Add some grease or dielectric to the pins (don't be afraid to goop it up) and reconnect. This should be performed on a yearly basis. Some connectors that have the o-ring seals in them can go longer without maintenance. If your rear caliper is leaking, determine where its coming from first.A complete caliper seal kit is about 8 dollars from Yamaha and can be installed by a decent mechanic.I did one about a month ago,it was a bitch tryin to get the piston back in without f-ing up the seal,so take your time.
  18. Did you really believe I was serious??? :rotflmao:It was supposed to be funny Not everyone is a John Force of ATV drag racing like you Banchetta
  19. I can get a brand new 04' in the showroom for 5,000 around here.the resale on banshees suck!Their is just too many of them out there, not to mention its a 2 stroke, 4,500 is the most you'd probably get for it.
  20. Your success is probably due to the limited # of races you've run.Everyone loses a race now and then.Stalling, poor traction, not enough throttle, uncontrolable wheelies count as losses too.Unless your the type that only count races in which you get a good start or your a "Cherry" picker If I counted mine like that I'd be undefeated too. I don't know about that,I've ridden a few machines that were more like 90% motor 10% rider. If you could keep it down and manage to hold on,you were definitely a winner.

My fav was Zaxxon,I still have a game system somewhere in the attic along with a Colecovision.God I'm F-ing old!
  22. How about your jetting specs for that set-up Meat. Main, pilots, needle clip would be appreciated.I am a fan of open class two stroke power and that sounds like the ultimate setup.A bunch of low end with the majority of the power delivered in the midrange and flattens out nicely on top. With the right gearing,I bet it will still stomp a mudhole in some seriously modded shees.
  23. Had that problem on saturday with this 87' that I just pieced together.Crusing down the trail,I clutched it and all the sudden the idle started racing.I knew exactly what it was since I just clicked over to reserve, luckily I was only a stones throw from my truck. To think how many times I had the tank off and never just tried to crack the petcock to see if it was ok.
  24. I'll sacrifice the 1-2 lbs that you save by eliminating the TORS system,If you've ever had a throttle stuck open before, you'll appreciate the advantage, not to mention how "easy" it is to adjust the idle. Just take the time to take the cover off and inspect them when you reject or service the carb/throttle.Dirt is the main reason the Tors systems fail
  25. It sucks that you have to learn the hard way,You were probably one of those idiots who thought they would never get caught. The idiots that are constantly running from cops when they see them. Then when someone like me,who's tooling 15 mph down a rural road with one tire on and one off the road gets pulled over, stops immediately, display all the right paperwork and they still tow the quad. Assholes like you are the reason cops give respecting law abiding citizens like me and others a hard time.I would say I feel sorry for your situation, but people like you are ruining the sport of atving. Just like the Biker gangs of the 60-70's.Even today, people have very little respect for bikers. No one remembers the good you have done, but they'll never forget the bad.Do your part to help promote this sport, not destroy it.
