  1. If I understand correctly in your first post you ditched the airbox for pods, is this the case? if so you better feed it more fuel. This is not going to help your throttle cable issue, but if you went from stock airbox to pods your gonna have to go up on your mains and probably your pilots as well.
  2. You may have already mentioned this but have you checked your perch/lever? Is anything bent? Lever possibly wore out or maybe cracked where your cable goes in? If you have everything put together correctly it almost sounds like your not getting enough "throw". You said this is a new to you bike so are you sure the clutch and everything is together right? Is it possible somebody has a wrong bolt in the adjuster?
  3. I've personally seen 2 fail right out of the box. One ran for maybe 30 seconds, other one wouldn't even start
  4. The best way I've found to set toe in is to take a couple jack stands or something along them lines, put one about a foot behind your rear tire and the other one about a foot in front of your front tire. Then take a piece of string and tie it on each stand and get it close to the center line of your wheels, get the string dead even going off the rear rims from front to back. I just sit the string about 6" or so from the rim and to get the equal distance I move the front stand in or out as needed. Doesn't matter how far away the string is, just so long as it is an equal distance. Then you have fairly straight line to measure and set the front toe end off of that will be in line with your read tires. Obviously this wont work if your rims are bent.
  5. I have buddy that has bought 2 different set of PWK 28's from them, he didn't say anything good or bad, this has been a while back. I do know they jetted based on his description of mods done, also gave him a set of jets smaller and larger than what they put in the carbs.
  6. ^^That. At 500' asl, pods and pipes with no port work we run 300-310
  7. I like to media blast the cylinder gasket surfaces Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Have you been into the bottom end? Be a good idea to get the crank checked out and welded if it's not already.
  9. Try to put every other one in to start. Personally I put a little oil on them and tap them in with a socket the same size as the cushion. But they do suck balls sometimes
  10. OEM stator, billet plate such as Mattoon
  11. If its building that much pressure I would try switching the radiator caps and see what happens
  12. No problem. I will help any way possible. As I said, I am kinda heading that route with mine. Basically just red and white plastic, I got an 87 reproduction sticker kit, next year or 2 I want to get the frame powdered red. I have tried to find the exact red the factory used but I havent found a solid answer yet. Debating on powdering the a arms and swinger white or not. Yea there's a few banghsee's around here. There's 2 more behind my rzr you cant see in the pic. I think there's 7 or 8 out there now. Everybody brings them here when their broke. Somehow they wind up staying here for a while.
  13. I can get some, it's not very pretty though just to warn you. It sat for 7 or 8 years prior to that is was beat on pretty decent
  14. I like that original 87 look. Kinda what I been going for on my own junk over the last several years. Pretty sure the calipers and hubs are different. The axle carrier is smaller also. I got one in my shop right now, it belongs to a buddy. If you need pics or anything let me know.
  15. They was badass back in the day. WAY back in the day
  16. Coolant plugs for some reason, I have no idea why they are there to be honest, maybe somebody smarter than me knows. I say replace them because I can guarantee you, it really pisses you off when you are just getting ready for the first fire up and you got coolant leaking out of them. Then the whole top end has to come back apart to replace them. This happened on the first motor I ever put together, every one since gets new plugs
  17. Yes. It's a rubber plug, just replace them while it's apart.
  18. Any sort of ATV dealer/shop should have it, most any auto parts store will have it. Or call Fast Racing tell them what you need, done deal.
  19. It does kinda screw me up at times. There was one time last summer when it was hotter than hell out and we were runnin pretty hard in tight woods, I got it up to 230 before I noticed how hot it was. Thats the hottest I ever had it so that temp will be on the display for a few seconds, then it switchs back to the actual temp. kinda fucks you up when you look down and see 230
