  1. Wtf? The boost bottle is a deal breaker. lol You can tell somebody spent some money on the bike but its kind of an older build I think. We struck a deal on it so Im gonna go get it tomorrow after work. It does have a chrome +4 swinger. its very yellow... But I plan on rebuilding it this winter. might throw my motor in it and take it to the LS ride. Should be easy to spot!

  3. Well done.. Can you tell what the crank is by the pic? Don't the wang cranks have grey colored rods? I've read somewhere about the rod color can help tell what kind of crank. He originally told me $1500. He's been trying to sell it a while. He's realized he's not going to get that for it. I'm going to trade him a flat bottom boat and some cash. What do you think it's worth? And can somebody help with those carbs? Mikuni flat slides???? thanks
  4. A guy has this banshee for sale but know very little other than it's supposed to have a 4mil crank. One cylinder has low compression. He's about 2 hours from me so I'm hoping the experts here can help me I.D. some parts. Mostly the crank. It's still in the motor but can anybody tell what it is? Just don't want a Taiwan crank. It has CPI's and an extended swinger and some chrome A-arms. Are these Mikuni carbs? Are they any good? Thoughts? Thanks--

  6. I did clean all the carbon from pistons and rings and cylinders. I made sure to put the pistons back in the cylunders they came out of and put the rings back on pistons in same grooves etc. I thought ring broke and made that hot spot. Do you think the hot spot happened because of a ring gap being too tight then th rings broke? any help?

  8. The book says different. I think I did 32:1 for about 1/4-1/2 a tank. You shouldnt rip on it. Vary your throttle. Go through warm up and cooling cycles etc. You can find the exact info on here if you search for it or just google it and then click on the bhq stuff.
  9. Yes they're stock pistons. I didnt do any of that. Pulled that top end from a good running bike and slapped it on mine trying to buy time until this winter. The only thing I did was clean stuff up. You think the black happened before the ring broke?
  10. 1st pic of cyl walls I circled the damage. 2nd pic is intake side of piston 3rd pic exhaust side. I had 130 psi compression on both sides after "break in" and left hole is still at 130. Pretty stock bike fmf pipes and silencers k&n with pro flo adapter +4 timing 280 mains and 27.5 pilots oem carbs tors delete 800' elevation stoke stroke and all virgin stock bore no porting cylinders Maybe 3 hours on motor since assembly

I just got the jetting pretty good and overheating issues fixed. When I fired it up it wouldnt idle and was a total dog on the bottom end. Long story short the right side had 30 psi compression so I pulled it down and found the rings broken piston broken and cylinder sleeve cracked. I just had it apart and put the used top end from NYUK on it trying to buy time til winter(cylinders,crank,pistons and rings) I know the rings were in right when I slid the cylinders down because I checked a bazillion times. Any ideas what happened???? Is my vision getting bad? Or did something come in or something on cyl wall break rings and then let them spin? I dont know so any ideas or things to check would be appreciated! I gotta get this thing fixed before the little sahara ride. Thanks--

  14. My choke doesnt work bc the orings on it are trashed. you can spin the wntire choke out with a 12mm wrench and check. The no idle.and having to stay on throttle could be pilot jets or air leak.

  16. He sounds like a kid. Who gives a shit if it's a "fish story" or not? I give him props for wrenching on the banshee and learning some valuable skills instead of sitting around playing video games.
  17. Lol bolts are great. I had an air shifter on cbr 600 and I welded a tab to the frame with a tiny gusset behind it. Welding is probably best but I guess you could use u-bolts to hold something. making it look good and not rub your paint would be almost impossible though. Or make a hideous contraption that uses a couple bolts on engine or pegs or whatever is close for your set up. Im interested in pics of whatever you build. good luck

  20. my key switch would kill power sometimes. So i chopped it out. ?? Dont know if thqts your problem since it's firing on one side sometimes. coil?
  21. I think pick up coil gap is .016-.018. I originally set mine at .010 and it ran fine but then ran across the other numbers and changed it.
