  1. compression is 130/132, new plugs 2 different sets, needles are in the middle clip, a/r screws made little difference, solvent to soak in and carb choke cleaner sprayed thru the passages, 30 pilots....switched bowl on right carb to a right carb bowl musta gotten it mixed up last time i cleaned them with another set of carbs i was robbing parts from ...heading out to clean the right carb better and spray through the passage agian and make sure the pilot is clean. just gotta go get another can of carb cleaner...i will post how everything turns out afterwards. i've been slowly bringing this shee back to life encountering every known problem along the way. much thanks to all the ppl here at banshee HQ for helping figure out all the problems. Y'all are by far the best ppl in banshee land! thanks again.
  2. why would the right carb only work when the choke is on, on the left carb? what would cause this and what could be the possible solution?stock carbs
  3. the jet is in both bowls? i'll look and see if one of the other bowls i have dont have a spot for a jet
  4. so it's ONLY found on the left carb? i was cleaning the carbs lastnight and there wasn't a air jet in the bowl...just an open passage so i put one in and am about to go try it out...the bike wouldn't idle at all, had to have it 1/4 open to start and smoked alot so i was giving them a good cleaning when i found the bowl was missing the jet.
  5. must be the air jet i'm guessing. and you say it gives air to the pilot jet?
  6. what is the small jet located in the float bowl? not the pilot or main! they are both in the main body this is screwed into a vertical passage in the bowl. what's it called and what's it purpose and function?
  7. problem solved! good checking stator but only giving intermitent power........fuckin canadians!!! put old stock stator on and wala fires first kick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. i've went thru all the wiring and ohm testing once again everything is checking out...no key switch anymore red/black from the cdi is grounded out to the frame....as well as i made a new ground wire for the coil and it is grounded out to the frame with the rest of the grounds. is there an ohm requirement for the orange to coil from cdi wire? i'm going out to pull the flywheel, i marked the shaft nut and flywheel as to see if it sheered the key and it's not moved but it acts like the inside magnet is broken or something. even though it's new i noticed the guy who changed it used an impact to put the nut on.
  9. i had that idea as well so i scotchbrited them not that they were rusty but just to clean um to see if it made a difference and no difference.bangheadbangheadbanghead i just wish i could figure it out, i really dont want her to sell it cause of something stupid. i've done so much my brain hurts. even had my son wiggle and bend the wires as i was checking, hoping it's just a bad wire and everything checks out good. anyone ever had the connectors inside the quick connector loosen up and not make correct contact with the cdi? they look good but maybe not?!?
  10. i've had it everywhere from .020 all the way down to where it's at now @ .010 and now is where the spark is the strongest looking super bright and blue when it decides to spark
  11. pick up is set at .010 and no TORS...acts kinda like a sheared key but it's a new hardened key that when inspected looks new not chewed or anything....also flywheel is not like a maraca like my last one ...
  12. occasional spark....only one plug wire will spark then it switches to another then nothing the both then just one again...wtf...any ideas? new good testing stator, pickup coil, coil and plug caps, new cdi, new flywheel...every wire and connector checks good in the harness front to back...wth could the problem be? every once in awhile it'll try to start but hasn't yet. wet but not to wet plugs so it's getting fuel. any ideas would be a great help and releif as the wife wants to sell my shee!
  13. Carbs clean and jetted to 280 mains, coil is new from rm stator in canada with plug caps allready installed... i'll try a known good stock coil...hope the cdi isn't going out( i'll test with known good one) but if it is then i'll send it back it has a one yr warranty
