  1. once again you guys kill me with your sarcasm To the guy who started this post I have been riding for about 20 years and lined up against anything that wanted to race. 2, 3, 4 wheels, cars, street bikes blah blah blah. Who gives a fuck!!!! Want to answer your question line up and get it. If you are going to try and reserch the outcome of every banshee experience prior to it happening maybe this isn't the sport for you!
  2. I heard Wal Mart is a good start with a good price!!!
  3. :rotflmao: You guys are killing me today!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Is advancing 10 degrees even possible without blowing the motor?????
  5. What went out the window? The trade, the trust, or both. As far as trusting him thats a question only you can answer. These days, trust is questionable in anybody. We live in a shady ass world.
  6. 499cc is a measurement that comes from inside the engine so if there is no paper work that is going to prove it then the only other way I would think to verify is to see inside the motor for yourself. Highly unlikely that the seller is going to do that for you. You are going to have to, "have faith," and believe what he says and hand your money over, personally this is not the road I would take. Other option is save extr money you would have spent on this bike and get one way cheaper then build it yourself. This way you know whats in it for sure, and you know its down the way you would want it done because you did it.
  7. Na na na. It was a figure of speech. I was in the truck awaiting his call, so I could leave at a moments notice to go get the steel of a life time.
  8. Here you go guys, check this shit out! http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/mcy/2930193434.html I found this at 0630 this morning. I thought it was the steal of a life time. I was in the truck, cash in hand, coffee consumed at 0700hrs ready to pick this baby up, while I was awaiting his return call or text. I got the returned text alright, and realized joke was on me HAHAHA but I wasn't laughing!!!!!!! His stupid ass roommate posted a fake add so people would randomly call and bother his buddy. I knew the shit was to good to be true!!!!!!!
  9. First question is did it run fine last year when you let it rest? Did you drain old gas and replace with new? You say you checked reeds? Did you remove and check, if so make sure no air leaks at the reed gaskets. New plugs? If the carbs have been sitting since last year did you do the thorough clean and remove jets and clean extremely good especially pilot jet? Are the slides in the right carb? Is your filter clean? If so, did you over oil it, or are you sure its not suffocating with an outerwear? Thats all I got for now.
  10. The needle is going to change your mid range. Here I put two extremely helpful links up about jetting that you must educate yourself with. After reading these you should feel a lot better. Trust me, ditching those stock pipes was best move you ever made and you don't want to look back. http://www.dfn.com/agservices/jetfaq.html http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23546
  11. I agree, plugs looking pretty rich. Not really even close to coffee brown. Is it smoking like hell or what?
  12. Try looking at this topic to see if you can find someone with a similar set up so you can get close. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99361
  13. You know what they say, this definately is not the sport for "cheap ones." Hope it works out for you though.
  14. Well you should really take a look at the carbs and jets. Before anyone can answer you questions you will have to be more specific about your set up to get the answers you need. If you want to know approximately what your jetting should be you need to post, air temperature, if you have an air box, or one with lid/no lid, pods, and elevation. Without this info theres no telling where you should be.
  15. Well I'll tell you the first thing you can get rid of is the boost bottle. The boost bottle has been proven in here time and again to do nothing but crack the intake boots in sits it. You are better off replacing it with the stock crossover tube because you aren't getting any HP from that boost bottle.
  16. Yup same with the parking break. So is this a new bike that you are trying to work the kinks out on? If so, you should probably take a look at the carbs and see what jetting you got as well as give then a good cleaning. Especially if you have T-5's you should make sure the jetting is correct.
  17. Hey your title says plug chop but your pictures dont show any plugs that have been chopped. You need to look in the jetting and exhaust forum and look at some of the chops in there. If your plugs are getting browned or blackened at the top then you are doing it way wrong. Plug chopping is actually chopping the threads off the plug to see the approximate 2mm ring that will be at the bottom of the plug (not shown unless threads are cut away). If you want to do a plug chop, the bike needs to be warmed up on a old plugs then shut off. Put new plugs in, do a 1-6 WOT then pull in the clutch, kill it, and coast to a stop. Replace old plugs and ride home. Chop the 1-6 plugs then post them up.
  18. I know that there is an arrow on the top of the case that is supposed to allign with the arrow on the clutch actuator arm.
  19. Wow thats carzy! The whole time you thought you didn't have no oil, it was there the whole time????? You gotta admit thats knid of funny. Well at least if you ever have oil mysteriously disappear in the future, you have this thread to refer to with all the tips everyone threw out there trying to locate the houdini oil which was playing the greatest illusion trick of all time.
  20. I cleaned up my harness before I had any real knowledge about electrical. Its easy to look at the diagram and see the shit you need vs. what you don't. If it was your goal to "clean" it up in the first place, and now you have a problem, you should consider removing it from the bike and strip it as I did just to be sure you fix your problem. Couple good things about doing this is, you can clean all your plugs and connections, ensure there are no shorts floating around, do a visual inspection of all wires to ensure none are burnt, pinched, smashed. You would be supprised how thin and manageable the harness is after all the garbage is removed.
  21. Sorry about that. Thats the page I copied and pasted the link from. Don't know where the problem occured. My bad, didn't mean to mislead someone. Thanks for catching my mistake.
  22. ^^^^^^I agree^^^^^ gas and tranny fluid pretty hard to mix up I'd think
  23. To me it sounds like you might have a loose ground. Were you doing all this tugging and cutting while the harness was all hooked up? If so double check that all the plugs are securely fastened together and that your ground is tightend. When I removed all the excess junk off my harness I completely stripped all the electrical tape so I could see all the wires and followed all unneed wires and deleted them from the source instead of just clipping plugs like you did. This way I was sure there were no loose ends fucking things up inside my harness. Heres the banshee electrical faq but if you use the search bar you can find people who have posted diagrams that show all the junk you dont need. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=133650
