How do I check the adjustment ?

A friend just told me he thinks I might try adjusting it first and if not that he thinks it might be the clutch.

U can feel it like drop as if it's going into gear but once clutch is released nothing

When I start my banshee and go to put it in gear nothing happenes. Is this a clutch issue? Or something more serious.
