  3. Hello I have a 98 banshee I have been riding this machine for the past few summers and I have done a lot of reading on converting the front suspension over to a yfz450 front suspension. Now I am wondering what the best set up is for the front end of the banshee. What kind of mods need to be done to swap 450 a arms and shocks over to my banshee Thanks for the feed back and hope to hear some feed back soon.
  4. Well I decided to pull plugs and look down in cylinders and right side looms good with some carbon smooth nothing out of norm. The left side same with carbon but looks like specs down a portion of piston front to back almost like pitting. But very super fine looking.
  5. Ok I just wanna start by saying thanks for all the input I have received from my posts lately. I have a 98 Banshee with t5 pipes bored to 64.50mm and just put the boysen power reeds in the other day. I took for ride and later on checked my plugs. I noticed when I pulled the plugs round the ring at bottom of threads there was a bluish or purple tint to one of the plugs. Inspected the centers and plugs were nice n rich. Nice dark tan almost brown. I turned my air screws in a quarter turn as recommended by boysen due to leaning at low rpm. The othervplug was normal looking around that ring. I can't recall which cylinder that plug came from though. Is there some reason for this? Should I put new set of plugs in and see if the problem persists to happen. I really didn't notice any difference or loss in power. The bike was not any hotter than normal. I live in western ny so it was about 60the degrees outdoors. Am I just over concerned? Or is it the boysen reeds? I am not as impressed with the reeds over the stock ones as I thought I would be. Please feel free to respond as ur info is very important and much appreciated.
  6. I have a 98 Banshee with 64.50mm bore with toomey t5 and boost bottle. Im looking at adding a cool head. The one problem I have run into is what size dome should be run with this motor since its pretty much stock. I really don't want to be messing with race gas since most riding is done on trails and hills. Also been hindering on going with hi flow water pump impeller and aluminum oversize radiator vs the cool head. Which is the better direction to go? Have heard the cool head. Thanks.....
  7. Well after draining oil pulling carb and reeds I flipped the wheeler. Not surprised some fuel did come from the motor. Flipped back over kept kicking over until my finger over the plug hole no longer was wet with fuel. Put garbs back to stock settings and re installed stock pipes to just try and get the wheeler to run. Still no luck. Getting fuel plugs r damp but dead not a pop. Pulled pipes once more and no gas in pipes so that is a plus. But am getting stumped. One question can the wheeler be getting.g spark but just not enough to ignite the fuel?
  8. Thanks for the info, since the post have talked without a couple ppl who know there way around.d a Banshee. I have heard similar things with th bottom end being loaded with fuel also and that is causing for the plugs to stay wet and not allow it to start. I just recently put the t5 s on my wheeler and did the carb jets for the kit and that seems to be the issue. Never had this issue before. Now when flipping the bike is it gonna cause any issue with the antifreeze or the gear oil in bottom end getting where they don't belong? Is it safe to flip the bike or will it just cause more of an issue? Thanks again for the information since I am new to the forum be patient while I figure this out.
  9. I have a 98 banshee, last fall i put wheeler away for the winter it ran fine. well i put the tors removal kit on the carbs, and added the tommey T5 pipes kit. I have done all the mods for the toomey kit air box, carb jetting. well went to start the wheeler and no luck. I am getting spark from the plugs tested with light tester, getting fuel cuz had one of the floats stick and poured gas on the floor from the over flows. have taken care of that issue pulled pipes and dumped gas from the pipes. since then let set over nite to evap the gas in motor. put new plugs in and kicked my ass off. no luck pulled plugs and they r wet, HELP WHAT COULD BE THE ISSUE? THANKS
