  1. make sure the key is at the same angle as the slot in the flywheel. key should take a slight tap to get it in. chamfer the edges slightly with a file. no need to be hitting the flywheel with anything. common sense shit ya know. if ya dont got any then ya better get some http://www.hotrodsproducts.com/TunersTips.aspx?ItemID=31&page=1
  2. husqvarna lawnmower. i bet they dont make a single part on that sumbitch. probly rebadged sears mower from china
  3. that sucks bro. my '03 manifolds still look pretty good
  4. alot of bearings from japan. you got a specific manufacturer ?
  5. oem will last 10+ yrs before you have any problem with deterioration or cracking. theyre also cheaper than UPP and billits. nothing agaisnt UPP but if your sure you want to stay with stock carbs and dont need a bunch of bling then i would just pick up some new oem manifolds and call it a day
  6. nice. what brand bearings they using ?
  7. dont know KOC, dont wanna know KOC, dont want any association with KOC but he makes a valid point regarding the crankshaft. if the width is were its supposed to be and the rod has excessive side play, pinching the webs tighter isnt the proper way to fix that problem, atleast not in my book sideplay is the least of my worries but you have to draw the line somewhere. if its excessive thats a good indication something is likely worn out
  8. flywheel side of that crank looks pretty galled up. would not buy
  9. somebodys buying stuff from ebay and then copying and remaking it in china then resaling it on ebay as made in usa ? that dont suprise me. china copies all kinds of shit and remakes it at poor qaulity. i avoid anything from china and usually taiwan also. couple days ago i was looking for a infrared thermometer. 95% of em are made in china. went out of my way to find one made in usa. them wiseco chinese cranks are well know for breaking right in half. pure junk it might cost alittle more but the best way to avoid china junk is buy your item right from the manufacturer then you know what your getting
  10. like them dipshits on thumper talk. shave the cylinder down .030" and hang on
  11. you can tell calvin put a ton more thought into his stuff if them athenas were 64mm i would probly snatch up a cheap used set and fool around with em. even though it appears they have most of the same flaws as stockers. only good thing i see is they already have tripple ports so thats one less thing thats gonna take a hundred hours to cut in by hand
  12. i dont understand athenas logic. they spend all this time making a new cylinder and the best they could come up with is enlarge the bore to 68mm and use it on a 54stroke. thats about the worst thing they could have done. should of kept it at 64mm. from pics it looks like they have the ass backwards transfers like stock cylinders. if they would of used some common sense in the design im sure they would sell quit a few sets
  13. so you noticed half the cylinder sticking out of the box when it arrived ? sounds like thats your problem. probly wasnt packaged for shit and ups dropped it on the ground. bent the skirt slightly. i wouldnt even bother sending it to anybody but millenium. it will need to be checked for cracks. depending what they find you might be lucky and they can hone the tight spot out. then again the tight spot might be rather large and they need to pull the plating off and straighten out the tight spot and replate. then again maybe youir skirts cracked. hard to guess whats wrong. millenium will know for sure though
  14. factory manual aint worth a shit. looks like photocopied pages from 1980. clymers seems to be alot better. can buy em anywhere for $30 or so
  15. i like benol but not in the winter. could see it seperate in the clear filter at 45f
  16. if the material is good qaulity then you can take it apart numerous times without issue, even if its been welded. problem is some of the aftermarket stuff is a one shot deal and hardly worth the cardboard its wrapped in. anymore theres so many companies jumping on the band wagon its hard to know whos shit is good and whos aint. looking on ebay theres crankshafts i never heard of. no name shit probly from china
  17. to much oil (if there is such a thing) never hurt anything
  18. ran great until it didnt. hate it when that happens
  19. throwing big pistons in your current cyls would be a foolish mistake never seen the athenas first hand but they must be some sorry ass cylinders if the stockers run better. considering the stockers aint nothin to write home about
  20. next on the list is hinson basket with straight cuts and chariot stator cover when he gets them special nuts
  21. i meen regarding the fiber plates. fzr100 plates vs the banshee. is there a difference in the cork pads or something. whats the advantage of using fzr fibers over the oem banshee fibers is what im getting at. was gonna order a single fzr plate so i could see it myself but hell theyre nearly $20 with shipping
  22. i guess it wouldnt matter much what springs are in there. lockup will clamp the plates shut anyways. whats different about the fzr1000 plates and the banshee plates ? is the cork pad wider or something.
  23. is barnett springs the way to go ? hinson springs must be gold at $70
  24. cam is it going a bit far if a guy cuts the sides open . go big or go home i reckon
  25. cool thnx. theres about 100 street bikes and i couldnt remeber which one. ill just order up some fzr1000 plates. not familiar with 583. was just gonna use that spring basket with straight cuts, direct drive lockup and pancake bearing when you say fzr1000 plates you meen the fibers right ? what metal plates you using ?
