  1. I had my builder talk to CP about casting a 521 Super Serval with the CR250 6-Bolt Intakes and they would but you had to order at least $15,000 worth in order for them to cast one. I don't know why they don't put the big intakes on all their 10 mil and up Super Cubs and Servals. From what I've read they could use it.
  2. That's awesome, I've never even heard of a DM Serval. Have you had that bike on a Dyno? I've been told it puts down big numbers. What was your previous Banshee with silver Full Bore Plastic, 10 mil DM Cheetah? It was a bad ass bike too.
  3. I thought you had a 68mm (14 mil) X 85mm 772cc Serval? Regardless your Banshee is one bad machine.
  4. It's not as big as your big Serval but at 500cc's+ it should be strong runner for a play bike.
  5. I still don't get it. I guess this ones way over my head? A properly matched YFZX Hybrid Suspension and the steel basket are both good mods for recreational trail/play Banshee. Both are durable, cheap, and yield a good performance. Please don't take what I'm saying the wrong way, these upgrades are not for every Banshee and every style of riding and racing, and I'm not pushing or trying to talk anyone into doing the mods that I've done on my Banshee. I don't stand to make anything. I'm only trying to share the information knowledge that I've accumulated through out my own build. You can take what I say for what it's worth, if your interested in doing some of mods I've done I'll do all I can to help. I think my Banshee rides handles better than any other banshee I've rode, but I haven't rode a all out Banshee with a aftermarket long travel frame with 25" of front and rear suspension travel and Fox Float Shocks. I have rode Banshee's with dual rate Works Shocks, Roll Design A-Arms, Fullflights, Stage-II Elka's, Axis Shocks, American Star A-Arms, Stock Shocks, Stock A-Arms, Raptor 700R Shocks, 04-08 YFZ-450 Shocks, and 04-08 YFZ-450 A-Arms. The Owner of the Banshee with +2 Roll Design A-Arms, Stage-II Elka's, Revalved/Resprung Stock Banshee Shock, and a Ace Fabrication +2 Swingarm had $2,500+ invested in his trail suspension and he even said he thought my bike rode and handled better in the trails. He might have pulled his Elka's straight out of the box bolted them on, I don't know. We were within 10lbs of each other on weight. You can't compare my 2011 YFZX Hybrid Suspension to a 04-08 YFZ Swap with or without the aftermarket a-arms though. The R and the X shocks are in a different category all together.
  6. Yes I plan on running a heavy duty +4 or +6 arched latter when and if I ever get that long travel frame built. I'm running a +3 on my Stock 04 Frame and it will turn sharper than a stock suspension Banshee, it's got a great turning radius with this suspension setup I'm running now. I figure I'll need the extra length with the new motor and I'm 32 years old now and a 2he C class hare scramble takes it out of me. I'd rather have a good comfortable reliable Banshee that has a ton of horsepower and torque that I can just cruse through the woods, shoot a few steep hills on, and kick ass in the river bottom drags. I'm getting to old to plow into trees and I'd rather have big power, but reliability is right up there too. I hope this new setup will have it all.
  7. Does it look okay to you guys? I'm happy with the MTF/YFZ-450X suspension and it does real good in the woods. Ride.race.live obviously thinks that I've got to much invested in the suspension. I remembered after he made that comment that I also traded in my old 2007 YFZ-450SE Shocks on the 2011 YFZ-450X Front Shocks, I think he gave me $225 trade in on them. When I made the "trophy truck" analogy in that old thread I was referring to the huge difference I noticed between the 07 YFZ-SE Shocks, Fullflight +3 A-Arms, and stock 04 Banshee Rear Swingarm/Shock in comparison to the 2011 YFZ-450X Shocks, Metal Tech A-Arms/+3 Swingarm, and new Rear Shock that matched the front. The bike rode and handled so much better and I was impressed with upgrades. I didn't literally mean my Banshee rode like a trophy truck that has 50" of suspension travel. I was referring to huge difference between those two suspensions. I'm not saying that the YFZX/R Hybrid Shocks and components is the best out there or good for every Banshee, the same thing goes for the steel clutch basket but both are good upgrades for a play trail bike for the money. That being said I'm not pushing anybody to try either mod, I'm simply sharing my ideas and findings with you guys. The idea behind the Hybrid X Suspension was I could upgrade to the Fox Float Evol-X Front Shocks for the Stock YFZ450X A-Arms and a Fox Podium Rear w/ Elka's LT Rear Link later on and have a Suspension as good as any Trail Banshee out there, but the Stock X Shocks did so good that I decided that I'd hold off on the Fox Setup until I built a strong, lightweight, long travel frame. I liked the way my buddy's YFZ-450X's and R's so well that I decided that I wanted the frame my custom frame to have the 2009+ YFZ -450R/X Frame Geometry as well as enough room between the steering stem and oversize radiator to mount a 7" 12V electric fan. I wanted to keep the Banshee style rear because Arched Latter Banshee Swingarms are a lot easier to find and a lot cheaper than a YFZR/X Arched Latter Swingarms. The same amount of rear travel can be gained on the Banshee Rear with a Elka Rear Link and the right rear shock. The shorter shock setup also allows the room needed for dual pods or a air box. I hope to have that frame built soon to house the new motor I'm building.
  8. I'm trying, I'm sure all you guys with big displacement motors will hand me my ass, but my new setup should be respectable.
  9. Come on Tyler cut me a little slack. What does Vortex have to do with anything?
  10. I'm good friends with Kevin Groff and he buys, rebuilds, modifies, and sells ATV Shocks. He specializes in Hybrid ATV Suspensions and he helped Tyler at MTF with the a-arms and Swingarm. He's the one that told me about Metal Tech and he sold me my shock setup for the amount he had in them and didn't charge me any labor. As you can see in the pictures I posted the shocks were originally silver before he started on them.
  11. $1,000 was total cost shipped on the a-arm kit and the +3 XC swingarm and twin row bearing carrier. $425 was the total for all three shocks tuned and set up for me and the bike.
  12. I'm building a play bike for recreational trail riding and to race in the KOI 200-300ft Dirt Drags. The motor in the pictures is the Trail Ported 392cc Serval I had. I sold it, now I'm building a big dual purpose motor. I trail ride the shit out of this bike, I just take really good care of it. I have a electric power washer that's hooked to a hot water heater in my shop that I clean it up with when I'm done riding and I wipe the motor off with eagle one aluminum wheel cleaner. I'm a little OCD about my banshee.
  13. I've got a picture of my Banshee setting beside a 2010 YFZ450X that I ride with. Send me your email Dave and I'll send you that one too Dave so you can post it up. Tyler I'm not saying my suspension is the best by any means, but it does good in the woods.
  14. I'm not around my desk top, I'm replying from a iPhone and I'm having issues posting pictures.
  15. Thats what I've been trying to explain to Nick and the others. My Shocks were actually new take offs from a 2011 YFZ-450X. It's the same shock but its a little shorter. They were resprung and revalved by Kevin Groff out of AZ and the A-Arms and Swingarm are both one off and custom made by Metal Tech Fabrication. I have about $425 Shipped in the X Shocks and the Rear Shock shipped after it was all said and done, and I paid $1,000 Shipped for the A-Arms, HD Tie Rods (powdered OE silver), +3 Roundhouse Heavy Duty Gusseted Swingarm (powdered OE silver), Billet Twin Row Bearing Carrier complete with Pivot Works bearings and seals, and caliper bracket (hard anodized red), and a extended SS braided rear brake line. So I have $1,425 invested in my entire suspension that's tuned for me and my bike (Not including the SS braided front brake lines that utilize the OEM hard lines and the YFZ-450X spindles, hubs, dual piston brakes, and steering stem flag) if you include those components and shipping I think the total was $1,709.00 if I remember correctly. I don't think thats to bad considering what all I ended up with, plus it's tuned and setup for me. I've got a long travel gusseted chromoly Banshee frame I designed on a old CAD program I have that uses the stock or aftermarket YFZ-450R/X front suspension components, bumper, grab bar, foot pegs, and rear sub-frame, and uses the Banshee motor, radiator, gas tank, plastic, seat, heal guards, and rear suspension. The wet weight will be about 18lbs lighter if my figures are correct. I would love to put the big motor I'm having built on that frame with a +6 arched latter swingarm and a Elka rear link.
  16. I would like to thank all the help that Angus Kennedy for Kennedy Powersports gave me and allowing me to use his dyno and garage for testing. I would like to thank Anthony Evers for making the manifold and flywheel. I would like to thank RC Engineering for donating the injectors. I would like to thank Gary of GT Stators for making a custom stator for this project. If your so damn good why are you thanking all these people for making manifolds and flywheels? How many kits have you sold?
  17. I wish he'd go to the BHQ Meet, I'd stop and pick him up on my way. I'd love to half track his junk in front of everybody! My old 392 Stock Stroke Serval would have run circles around his Banshee. What's it going to be Nick? Beat my bike or shut your mouth!
  18. I'm I missing something, has Nick designed and built his own a-arms and suspension? He's been running his mouth about a bolt on electronic fuel injection kit for the Banshee for the past five years but I haven't seen anything but a mono pipe with a O2 sensor screwed in the side of the expansion chamber. If I remember correctly he was looking for a shop to machine parts for the Banshee EFI he was attempting. If he knows so much and he's so damn good on a CNC why in the hell is he looking for a shop to machine parts? I haven't seen him do anything but run his mouth.
  19. Oh and Nick AKA Zillabitch I'll put my Banshee against yours in any form of riding or racing, your Banshee's not even in the same category. Your not that far away let me know when when your ready and we can meet up and trail ride, drag race, or whatever. I've listened to you dog me and my bike behind a computer key board for the past five years and I'm sick of it! Meet me and run your Banshee against mine and show me you have the bigger, badder, faster Banshee or shut your mouth!
  20. Zilla, I didn't design or machine anything. I simply had a clutch basket replicated and machined from a different material to better suit my needs as a trail rider. My affiliation with this basket is the only reason you continue to comment and speculate on this topic rather than looking at the facts that Hinson, Tim, and myself have laid out in front of you. Who else do you know that's running a custom made A-Arms with 2009+ YFZ-450X Suspension Componets with a set of re-valved/re-sprung X Shocks that are matched to the riders weight and the Banshee??? My YFZX Hybrid Suspension is nothing like the old 04-08 base model YFZ-450 A-Arm/Shock Swap that your comparing it to, I didn't just pull the front end off another quad and modify it in my garage and slap it on the front of my Banshee. It was specificly made and tuned for me and my bike by a professional ATV suspension fabricator/builder. Your once again speculating and coming up with bs theorys on somthing you know absolutly nothing about. I'm sure Tim or any other trail rider/XC racer that's rode or owns a YFZ-450X will tell you that suspension performs excellent in the woods and its a lot better than a lot of (NOT ALL) aftermarket suspension setups on the market today. Brandon Mull went through this same shit when he developed and released the Billet Water Pump Gear for the Banshee a few years ago. A bunch of know it alls started talking about the additional weight of the aluminum gear robbing power and causing issues, you might have even been one of the ones speculating on that too. Now that hundreds of Banshee's are running the aluminum water pump gear and its proven it's one of those must have mods for reliability. I misspoke on the case saver. I ment nylon. That was my mistake.
  21. Me and my junk will be there. I hope you guys will treat me a little better in real life!
  22. ^^^Is he serious?^^^ I thought we already covered this on page 2 of this thread! If rotational mass and weight is a concern a small amount of weight can be removed from the flywheel to compensate for the additional weight! At some point to much rotational mass can be removed and the engine will turn to high to fast and grenade. Trinity encountered this issue with their lightweight flywheel years ago. Then you have a clutch basket that never notches or gets sloppy for half the cost of a Hinson Billet Basket. How is that a bad thing? This dude just said he put a Hinson in his Banshee in 06 and he had to replace it this year, so obviously they do notch some over time. I'm talking about a basket that won't notch.... Ever. I can tell you my DL Stealth Lock-Up weighs more than a pound. Has anybody had any issues with transmission bearing or bushing failures do to added weight of a Lock-Up?..... No, I threw that junky bushing in the trash 3yrs ago and upgraded to a Bearing and Forged Kicker Gear, talking about reducing drag on the engine. How many of you guys beating the "engine drag" dead horse into a pile of dog food are actually running the the clutch basket bearing mod? How many times can you guys reword the same statement and ignore the answer you have been given?
