I too have just recieved parts from Ray, and although the box of bolts was just as used as the ones I told him I was replacing, it was a communication issue on my part. He has sold me lots of stuff that was in great condition, and has been punctual for shipping and replies.

Split the cases for sure, that situation sounds exactly like my situation. When I bought my bike, the crank spun freely indicated by being able to turn it over easily with the kickstarter. Then as I took the top end apart just 2 weeks ago, I realized that the kickstarter wasnt moving anymore. This resulted in me removing the bottom end. Once removed I turned it upside down in the hopes that a chunk of something dropped in by the previous owner might fall out, but it just kept coming. This was the result of a bad crank bearing as well. Now that youre in there, for piece of mind and with detonation like that happening, I wouldnt hesitate to go further and clean it all up.

Buy the shee, you'll never go back to the trx again. Like the trx, these have a tonne of potential, only you get to start off with a twin thats 100cc bigger. Those bolt ons sound good to me, I guess itll depend on the port job though, and what it was intended for? The pipes alone will keep you with the 450s, all the rest will just make it embaressing. I have a blingstar mat black bumper, barely used, my buddy gave it to me in exchange for some stuff for his bike. I have a bumper, so try a trade. I need some minor cosmetic stuff, grips, grill cover etc.....try me. I can post pics if you like

I know a lot of the guys on here run ATF fluid in their gerarbox, some run 10W30, some run a mixture of both. I personally have never heard of mixing 10w30 and ATF but they say it runs beautifully and have always run it, so.............. As far as the boost bottle, buy some beer instead, at least that'll do something for ya! All boost bottles do is crack your intakes, lean out your bike, wreck cylinders and wreck riding weather!

Thanks guys, I am going to hold off on the breaking down of the crank I just bought, as I want to make sure this thing is actually going to run, hell Im in over $1000, and Ive never even heard it run? Im going to do the crank seals and bearings for sure though obviously!

Youll probably hear it a thousand times, but are their any tears in the intake boots, causing it to lean out? Boost bottles are famous for that! I tought I had a top end issuue til we tore it apart and found a bunch of metal fragments stuck in the cases in my bottom end from my crank bearings. Good luck with it!

Hey guys, Once again, I have to thank you all for the help. I have bought the Vitos crank from an ebay seller here in Ontario, so itll be better for shipping. Its a standard stroke PC 350 for $160 shipped, so I think I did quite well. The only other question I had, was what other parts should I be buying from our vitos distributor for the crank, when it gets here, so I can just put it in, and back together?

OK, so I have bought a stock stroke vitos crank, but Im pretty sure its gonna come just as that. What other parts should I be replacing or will I need to install it when it comes? Is this crank that I have taken out junk, or?????? LONG live the clymer manual, what would I do without you!

OK, so new crank it is. Whats the point of a welded crank? and does anyone know stock stroke?

OK, so I posted a while back about my kickstarter that wouldnt move, even though it did when I bought it. I thought for a while that maybe the young guy who sold it to me had dropped a circlip in the bottom end from a piston or something. Well today I found the issue. Its actually the bearing for the left connecting rod at the crank thats failed, and it has allowed material to drop down into the area beween the crank and the cases, where I cant see it. This has also caused the crank to blue at that spot with heat. My question is this, should I buy a crank with rods already mounted or should I have these parts pressed apart and have new bearings put on and rebuiild it even though it has heat damage? Will the heat have bent the crank? I can post pics if needed.
