Naw, he'll be out terrorizing the public on two wheels before you know it. Once he scrapes his pegs, he'll be hooked on the adrenaline. haha

I'm a strong believer in picking up the phone and talking to some of our sponsors here. What did I do? Well, I sat down one night in the garage, facing my banshee, with the stereo on, beer in the cup holder, pencil and paper in hand and just wrote down any and every question I had. The following days I spent calling around and talking to some of the sponsors here, asking them these questions and taking in any other advice they gave. Some were quick to talk. Some would be very thorough. I ended up choosing Jeff (FAST racing) to place my business. Anyway, the builder should take into account all other mods to custom tailor your porting so that the powerband compliments you and your set up.

I wouldn't even bother with carbs. Pipe it, eliminate the tors and go to town on the suspension. My banshee has been very reliable. Keep up on routine maintenance and you'll be smiling ear to ear.
-
You would need to send the entire machine to Kevin or Jeff. Jetting is almost mindless once you know two stroke language. The motor will tell you what it wants if you listen.

hoping to dyno mine. Maybe I should head to Freeport, ill and hit up FHK. Their dyno showed 78hp out of a stock stroke big bore TRX450 a friend has. haha.

Can't you guys leave those raptors alone just once? haha

What i need for serval build?
gotta_goatsfast replied to PowerBander's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Good start. You will definately need suspension and brakes to upkeep. My serval tops out at 91mph (I run out of gear). I could step up to taller gearing but when the fuck will I ever approach 90mph on a track. lol, you can see a short list of the main parts in my signature. -
Something like this requires a higher resolution with better clarity. The rings look good in color but a little fat-slightly rich but safe. (maybe just because its blurry).

Type F transmission oil?
gotta_goatsfast replied to bigdogchevy98's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I run honda's performance gear oil. I tried ATF one year and got about a weekend of good riding on a new clutch and the ATF and it threw in the towel. Clutch was trashed by the end of the weekend and the oil stunk. Still use my FAST clutches, but have switched back to honda oil. A proper gear oil may be more expensive to change than ATF, but you'll only be changing it once a year instead of every other ride like ATF. -
Advancing the ignition will show the MOST gains in the low-mid range.

Selling new 35 pwk air striker set.
gotta_goatsfast replied to 4MiLLDraGSheE's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
I don't get it? Anyway, obviously the flange is 60 mm if it fits a 35mm pwk, I got that. I wanted to know how long they were and if they had at least a 10 degree angle on the boot. I don't think those filters will work with my combination. But thank you for the reply 4mill! -
good coler to paint the shocks and frame
gotta_goatsfast replied to 88banshee's topic in Banshee Appearance
I like Candy Red frames. But if durability is a big concern then there's always rhinoliner. haha -
I wouldn't look at power mods, then. I would look at a -1 or -2 swingarm and some awesome shocks. I don't know how narrow your trails are, but I fit just fine in the woods riding I do with +2+1 a-arms. With the right shocks and arms (and brakes) you'll handle a lot better. You'll also want a quality tire to hook up and get out of ruts. The power mods you have will be enough for tight woods. If you do need more torque down the road upgrade to a 4 mill stroker and some woods or MX style porting. But I'd only do this AFTER the suspension/brakes. Something else that I found helped a lot for control are better levers/controls and handlebars. Things like skid plates and nerf bars for protection, also.

Interested in the filters. Can you give me some dimensions and boot angle? -

Like previously stated, I'd feel terrible if I were the reason you didn't get laid at night. Go get her, Tiger. If her "mood" is still salvageable tonight, here's what ya do... Throw some Marvin Gay "Lets Get It On" in the garage stereo. Toast each other with Old Style cans or you can pour it into plastic champaine glasses first to make her feel real special. Tell her to grab the impact gun in the bottom drawer of your tool chest. As she's bending over, lick your fingers, pull up her skirt, and surprise her knuckle deep. If you have any nudies hanging on the lid of your tool chest you may want to cover those up (unless it turns her on). By now she should be eager and willing. Head over to the banshee and give her what she deserves, the spider monkey (look it up if you don't know). All I ask is one tiny favor. When you're about to finish, whisper in her ear "this one's for Jimmy" and give it one last jerk. -
Stock stroke ported jug on a 4mill
gotta_goatsfast replied to WynoT's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
This is an area that a lot of guys post up saying they want to try and learn. Well, I suggest that if you just ask for numbers, you won't know what they really mean. Its more than numbers. How you shape the transfers to blow into the cylinder, for instance is not measured in degrees. My point is, if you are truely in it to learn then pick up a copy of Gordon Jenning's two stroke theory and any other in depth reading material. Then you can determine what you need to do to produce a satisfactory port job. It is a lot more involved than you might think. Take off 1mm more than you intended in the wrong area and you have a peaky short rpm motor or worse, a motor that runs like shit. -

ahahahaha, troy told on us! I was going to say something along the lines of "keep her on her leash or I hold the same policy for the garage as I do my computer...", but this just sounds too good to be true. My girl wouldn't really know how to sign in to my account. Say she did for some reason get in, it would be a 1 in 1,000 chance that she'd even consider reading through posts on a banshee site. But, if she did read through some posts I give it a 1 in 1,000,000 chance that she'd stumble across this one. I think its Troyzstang trying to make us feel bad! In the off chance that it is his wife, and she logs on again to read... I don't want to be the one responsible for cock-blocking him. So my words to her are as follows... Dear Troyzstang's significant other, I offer you my most sincere apologies. I was closed-minded to include my wife, you, and/or any other woman into the typical "feminist" stereotype. I should not have disreguarded your mechanical abilities and garage-tech skills because you are a woman. I encourage you to pursue your passion for all things garage. In fact, I will support you in any and all things man-related. You are a rare and highly valued individual that seeks and enjoys male-associated activities such as, but not limited to oil changes, tire rotations, constructing bird houses, sharpening chainsaw blades, organizing fishing lures, overhauling vintage motorcycles, painting camo patterns on deer stands, tuning Nitro RC cars, fabricating headers, restoring collectable beer tins and motion signs, prepping and painting musclecars, painting the beer fridge to represent the GREEN BAY PACKERS, drinking beer out of said fridge, laughing with guys as one of your "bears fan" buddies refuses to drink beer from said fridge, building ice fishing hut, tig weld stainless steel grill/smoker with scrap from side work, ect... I envy you for going above and beyond typical candle/tuperware/avon parties. Please accept this apology on behalf of bansheehq. Sincerely, Jim Scofield -

If I find a piece of furniture or other crap that she sees fit to place in the garage, I used to leave the greasiest shit part (like some old bearings) in the bathroom sink. Didn't take too long. Although the garage fridge does house the beer in which she's welcome to tap into with me. And its NEVER a good idea to have her tidy up or clean up the garage. You'll swear she hid your tools on purpose.... -
I started with a 175 not knowing where to begin with. Once well into the powerband it ran (rich) but if I opened the throttle up all the way at say 5000rpm it would drown out and sputter until it revved up to around 7500 then it would launch. Now when I hold the throttle all the way open it pulls, unless you open it all the way down way low like 2500 then it hesitates lol.

Start with a 50 pilot and 165 main. Plug Chop your way to happyness.

How do I Adjust these Carbs?
gotta_goatsfast replied to Banshee Rider239's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Carbs won't net you any gains. Consider the TORS removal kit for your stockers and invest in some reeds and advance the timing. Then get yourself a coolhead and up the compression a little. After that, port the bitch. THEN, you can consider carburetors as a worthwhile investment. -

Garage is my time. I'd kill the bitch if she found her way to the mancave.
