  6. Start with swapping plug wires side to side. Have you done a leakdown test yet? If not, come back when you have. Float bowls on correct carb? They're different. Choke tube? Slides correct?
  7. Intake and exhaust "pieces" are what matters (mainly) If it were ported the seller would have mentioned that as a selling point. So, do you have two filters on the carbs, or one filter in a box? Does the box have a lid on it? If so, does the lid have a snorkle that goes up under the gas tank? Example of difference in jetting. What would work for summer, would need to be 3-4 sizes BIGGER in the winter. Always jet on the rich side.

  9. Find out if PO did a leakdown test, no matter you should do one yourself. List ALL of your mods (that you know of) size of jets in the carbs. I would highly suggest NOT riding until someone verifies you have the correct jetting. No, not normal to be shutting off after 7 minutes. Excess oil could be from leaky seal or carb sync or adjustment. Buy a Clymers Repair Manual. Least you didn't come here making 2 strokes or Banshees sound like some kind of fucking voodo majic

  15. IIRC, ground wire goes to reg/rectifier instead of grounding to stator plate. I've never done this so don't take this as Gospel truth. If I'm wrong someone will come along and flame the fuck out of me, which will be good.
  16. Also depends on temp. Thing with jetting is always start big/rich and work down. Plugs are cheaper than pistons.

  18. Don't know what "can tips" are, I used some pvc caps I glued in with 3Bond. Don't need no stinkin crossover. When you do test, that is one area to check for leaks.

  20. Weird, good news is that it runs right. Bad new is you need to find out why. I suggest draining tank, cleaning it and petcock, fuel tank cap vent, and carbs. Just think, this is all FREE !! Side note: that is about the going price for cdi in the states. You're in South Africa, correct?

  22. Google is your friend. Some say 6lbs for 6 minutes, 7 for 7. I use a Harbor Frieght cyl tester, couple plumbing pieces for the intake & ex. I need to "modify" the pvc cap I use for intake so I don't need to use spark plug hole. In doing the test if it won't hold air you test the tester for leaks, then move on to engine areas. By chance you don't have a boost bottle do you?
  23. Well usually a deficient spark rears it's head under load, not at idle. Seeing as a banshee uses a wasted spark, most one cyl misfires are either carb or pick-up related.
