  1. Brillant answer seat$$. Cap might let air in but not out. Heat from engine would radiate up to tank, expanding fuel. Fuel valve may hold fuel at atmospheric pressure, but not above. Was also going to mention that it might be leaking thru reserve part of valve but see you rebuilt fuel valve. Don't know where you live, but around here there is a small mud dauber wasp that LOVES small round holes for laying egg. If your bike has set for very long they might have attacked. Check ALL vent hoses on bike including battery. These little effers also like grounding outlet on wall plugs.
  2. By chance did you loose a small piece of the piston ring? Or have you determined the cause yet? Interested in what caused this. Thank you for info on pistons, might have been camera angle or just way I looked at pic. Please post if you determine cause.
  3. Just wondering what kind of pistons are those? Might just be photo but they look thick at the intake windows.
  4. Don't know squat about this stuff, didn't know who to contact. One was in thread I read and responded to, when I clicked back there were three more ans from ranli, checked one and it was jibberish also. Is this what made site crash? Thanks for the info!!
  5. Dont know whats up with this ranlin but looks like it needs to get dumped FAST . Just my .02 Check threads with answers by ranlin.
  6. Ok, I give. What is this in previous answer? I sure don't give a flip about China. But those are nice welds, good work.
  7. Did that price include shipping?
  8. Don't ban the Killa. If it weren't for him I might be the whipping post of the forum, or look half as smart. Besides, he's funnier than the humor forum. Plus, with a little time, he might actually learn something about life and banshees. If I didn't get a kick out of him and some of the answers he gets, I wouldn't read the thread. So, if someone doesn't care for "Killa" ignore his threads, ignore him. And BTW "Killa", get off the gangster shit, its not wanted here. You have two ears and one mouth. Use them twice as much as your mouth (keyboard). When you find yourself in a hole STOP digging. Also , belive in Karma, just cuz you got hosed on a deal doesn't give you the right to hose someone else. In fact if you do right by someone else, I belive that in the future good karma will come to you.
  9. I want all of you moneybags to buy LOTS of his stuff. Can't rely on politicos to get Michigans economy going again, especially that Canadian BITCH Grandholm, please no offense to any Canucks, lucky you don't have her. I've seen JDs adds on CL, the flame rotors are beyond description. Thanks to JD, and all of the other sponsers of HQ, I have learned mucho in a short time. Plus some of the threads are good for a laugh. Everybody have a great day, and it will get better!!!
  10. Correct and cheap don't usually go together. I could think of several caveman methods to get brg off, IF I did I would get all kinds of hell on here. Regardless, you still have to use oven/freezer method to put new on. Might be easier to handle bare crank, only talking couple gaskets. My .02. Machine shop or good auto parts store might pop it off cheap.
  11. Haven't experienced it myself, believe I've seen on here that it's a sign of pre-detonation. Maybe do search on it, or wait for other replys before riding. My .02.
  12. If you don't want to put money into it, why would any one else? They're all money pits.
  13. If you don't want to put money into it, why would anyone else? They're all moneypits!!
  14. X-2 on the reading. I've only been here a short time and I read about others issues just to learn what makes these things run, go faster, or blow up, or all three!! I've even gone to the last pages and read stuff.
  15. I believe the saying is "Cavitus Empter", or " Buyer Beware". Dumbass either blew it up or crashed it. Lack of bill of sale might not have been the best thing but shouldn't be a problem. Mich cops wouldn't take a report when my son's YZ80 (1979) was stolen few yrs back because it didn't have title. I think Judge Judy would say "Kid your'e EFFED" Is there any one of us that hasn't regretted a deal after the fact? That's life. Keep us posted. Btw, if I recall, the banshee wasn't exactly perfect, no offense.
  16. Has to be soft solder, micing it is measuring thickness of solder after it has been flattened between head and piston.
  17. Either grab your ankles or your gun.
  18. Good going, great deal!!
  19. Got my answer. thanks for answer and all who looked. Lot to learn about the little things that makes a banshee tick. Been messing with mechanical stuff looooooooong time. BTW O-ring was missing on tear down, putting together w/manual, saw pic of clutch and wtf? Thanks again!!
  20. In process of assembly. I don't have o-ring for back of clutch basket, wasn't there on teardown. Is it necessary, what does it do? Thanks!!
  21. Ball joints and brakes.
  22. When my Grandfather was 90, his nurse(home help) told my father "Your father was in the grain bin shoveling grain". My father answered "It's his farm isn't it?" Point is I think the adreleline RUSH will keep you young. If it kills you, whats a better way to go?
  23. No offense to Donkeypuncher, but I take offense to the use of"craftsmanship" regarding that porting. Crafsmanship denotes skill, pride, etc. Been a carpenter for 35 yrs, our terms for that are HACK, BUTCHER, SLUG, A.HOE etc. I'm with you on slamming this guy on CL etc. I dont think sleeving would save them.
  24. X-2 on bad hose. Did you recently change oil? Maybe touch to much?
  25. Point well taken about duner. Had a T-500 drag bike yrs ago only ran trick shift. Only prob ever was staged to long @ full throttle, clutch engaged (spun oil out?) , bike turned best time ever!! I also use atf as engine cleaner before oil change. Limited time of course!
