  9. Won't cost anything to adjust clip or air screw first. Best to only change one thing at a time in small amounts, especially if inexperienced at tuning. Could also be how you ride. Try opening it up more often in the lower gears, not "lugging" it like a 4choke. Been playing with smokers since early 70's, have replaced a zillion plugs. Just nature of the beast, IMO.
  10. Have you ohmed it? Cleaned ALL connections? Cleaned timing nubs and set pickup gap? Good clean ground at coil ? Tested switches?

  13. So it ran good when you bought it ? Now it doesn't ? Something has changed then. Air filter has gotten dirtier. Plugs fouled. Other electrical degradation. Never good idea to arbitrarily lean jetting without LOGICAL reason to do so, especially that big of a jump. As mentioned, a plug chop (or read) confirms jetting.

  15. How is the spark? Fat blue or lazy yellow? What fuel you using?
  16. Basically a 66.5 bore is just that, piston would be 66.4xxx.

  18. Don't get a "kit" figure out what range you need, order those. Make sure you only buy genuine Mikuni or Kehine jets, depending on which carbs you have. No name aftermarket jets have poor quality and a jet marked such as 250 may not be so.
  19. Do a leakdown test. If that's good, and it's not leaking lots, I wouldn't worry. Clean that area good with brake cleaner then 3bond it. That hole is to drain water from top of engine.
  20. Try richening air screw, maybe pilot jet. If it gets worse, go leaner. Always best to try richer FIRST, can't melt it down that way.
  21. Who did the porting? Any info? Timings or "style" ? What pilot, needle clip ?
  22. If China shit is so great , why can't they make a Banshee Stator?
