  1. First thing I would do is burn the shop that did the machine work . Then I would still have the cyls and pistons checked because if you have to much clearance you'll have problems from the first pop. Low compression , rapid wear (because piston are cocking in bore),excessive piston slap (breaking skirts) , taking out cyls or crank. IF this is the case consider selling your brand new pistons, buy new ones THEN have them bored to match new pistons. JMHO, your results may vary !!
  2. And now the rest of the story !! Have to admit it has been Even 1lb at ground level would probably cause them to blow up at 30,000 ft. So did you get the tires?
  3. Welcome to BHQ !! If you have owners manual it should cover it . Get a Clymers repair manual , worth it's weight in gold. Lube cables and chain ,change trans oil (do a search ,DON"T start another thread on which oil !!) . Grease suspension ,ride !!
  4. RIS Designs has a sweet all billit perch , also check other site sponsers. Bar size is 7/8.
  5. Anybody know if PC in temperature dependant as far as spraying the powder ? How bout humidity ?
  6. What brand head do you have ? Did you find coolant actually in cyl ?
  7. Damn ,more RM junk !! Go figure
  8. What's the cost on this ???
  9. So how many of you have replaced J arm bushings more than once? J s MIGHT wear slightly faster and the narrower pivot point alows more movement at the ball joint for a given amount of bushing wear. As for me I'll keep my Js and you can keep your extra 14 pounds To bad Yamaha didn't redesign the suspension to make it more like the Honda 250r when they added A arms , then you would actually have something to really talk about. At the end of the day, they're all banshees .
  10. Have to be about $400 or less to get any bites.
  11. Welcome to BHQ !! Nice looking 'shee Good place to keep her safe !!
  12. Clymers calls ring end gap to be 0.012 - 0.018, this is for stock rings . Did rings while back and wiseco gives a value X dia for gap, don't recall value. Biggest concern is piston to cylinder clearance. Take it to a machine shop and have pistons and bores measured to determine clearance. mark pistons with size and writedown cyl size so you can select fit them together . Different pistons have different clearance needs.
  13. If it's "brand new off showroom floor" take it back to dealer. If it has sat with fuel in carbs for four years , the gas evaporates leaving reidue in carbs.
  14. Are you using fresh fuel ? When was last time carbs were cleaned ?
  15. Closer to same thickness the better. Zinc should be ok. Do ALL you can to get one , even slight difference in thickness ( .005 in) will cause problem 1/2 - 3/4 throttle because tapered needle drop down into main jet. Look for dead bikes in backyards , motorcycle salvage yards ,etc. Good luck.
  16. Yes you need it. You are sure it was missing when you took it apart ? Look real good around where you took it apart , crawl on the floor if you have to. Don't know if it's available seperate from Yamaha . Maybe a mate has a dead bike/quad you might swipe one from. Worse case get a complete carb rebuild kit. The slide needle goes into the jet therefore without one both carbs won't opperate same.
  17. Pull clutch cover off first. Could have problems in clutch or kick idler. Might save yourself some work. JMO, your results may vary.
  18. Just tried the linc it works for me.
  19. Ahh shit , you missed a good one. Banshee painted Kawi green with Kawasaki stickers on it. Abomination , worse than having a crotch roket eng , IMO !!
  20. http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/bar/2060873907.html Someone ought to cut his nuts off so he can't reproduce !! At least it doesn't do 125 mph.
  21. I'm not an electrical engineer , but if it didn't matter , WHY would they mark it ??
  22. Just what every girl needs , a high powered ,10,000 RPM "TOOL"
  23. Has this problem just started or is it ongoing ? Has it been getting worse ? Have you recently changed ANYTHING on it ? Has the weather changed a lot ? Might try adjusting the idle air screw a little bit . If that doesn't do it clean carbs one at a time paying close attention to the pilot jet. JMHO , your results may vary. BTW , welcome to BHQ !!
  24. Should be O-rings in there. Might need new ,.
  25. When I did my son's I carefully ground the outer race until I could smoosh it with a pry bar/screwdriver. Tapped new in with wood block. Tips : coat bolt with anti-seize , install grease zerk in swing arm. JMHO , your results may vary.
