Okay here's my question,
I have stock carbs with no air box and clamp on k&n filters (the standard size ones). My friend has stock carbs with no air box and those carb adapters with the huge k&n filters (i think the 8 inch ones).....Is there one that is better than the other? Power? Air Flow..etc?
Call Brandon or Shay at WILDCARD RACING and order a Noss Cool Head 435-623-0148.
I think the best bang for your buck is a good port job, but I would do your cool head, timing, and other mods first.
1: I think most fmf's make a low to mid range power.
2: If your already running fmf's, just changing the type I don't think your jetting will change much. I dont know anything about fmf brand but I would think they would all be fairly similar between those three you listed, but im sure someone will chime in who has these pipes.
Why are you changing pipes?
Where is your bog at in the throttle? If your plugs are oily your WAY to rich...drop your main a size or two and maybe even move your needle clip one notch.
I used to have a yfz 450 with exhaust, intake, hot cams, 44mm lectron carb....I would run with some banshee's, but if they were ported they would SMOKE me. GET IT PORTED AND YOU'LL SCREAM!!!!! ps..why do you think I sold my 450 for a shee
Yeah maybe I should bump my jetting up. Right now I'm running a 320 main, needle on middle clip, stock pilot, and air screw 1 1/2 turn out. At 5,000 feet.
