  1. I think you will find the head is easy to intall and remove, the annoying part is draining all your coolant especialy if you use teh expensive stuff, and removing and installing plastics. What was yoru compression before you put the head on, and were there any mods to the stock head?
  2. honestly, I woulde just keep the stock carbs untill you do some motor work. Maybe get the TORS Removal kit to making jettng easier, but event hat is not necessary, since FMF's charts should get you close to perfect on the first time depending on your mods elivation and temperatures....The stock carbs are perfect for a banshee with pipes, and air filter mod, otherwise I would only go up one size at the most. But since your getting SST's and not Fattys my guess is that you do not plan to port an polish anytime soon?
  3. best bet, Make your own like me
  4. sounds like a coolant leak. Warped head, bad gasket etc,
  5. is there a chance that your testor seals better on the car than it does to the bike? you could spray some wd 40 or something around where it threads in and see if it bubbles when you kick it over...
  6. Naw it was like $3-4 a jet, I actually lost a couple and they gave me some. They never have exact change either so I always end up paying like $5-6 less. lol Just don't go in there and ask questions they will try to sell ya a bunch of shit just tell em what you want. Hope that Loren or the lady behind the desk helps you they are nice the other dood, I believe Lenny told my friends that drag pipes were a joke and PT high revs made more power lol some people why do you have to go all the way to the dez to jet it? if you need somewhere to ride for tuning purposes, we live on a private asphault road you can use to tune. Jetting will be a little leaner out in the dez but it gives you a close baseline. that would work, how long is the strip? long enough to hit WOT? if I throw my stock tires on can I test these 162 RDs? Are you sure I won't get a ticket? I live near 2 bars so it is a bad idea to ride anywhere near my house.
  7. Veys and alba sold me RD jets. Anyone know which is appropriate or which is better, or if there is actualy any difference in performance? I already spent like 40 something dollars in jets and I'm not even sure they are the right ones(they both fit and screw in but are designed slightly differently inside) ...gotta drive for 6 hours to go test them out really How much does a jet cost at duncan like $8 lol? They are different than 28's for sure!
  8. after your ported and have larger carbs it is a good idea to replace the reeds to increase fuel and air flow. I put in V-force 2's and the bottem end is nice and snappy, they look like they can flow 2x the amount of fuel and air as the stock (Look, but probably don't flow that much but definately more), which is not necessary if your running stock carbs and motor.
  9. I noticed the local stores have 2 kinds of jets. Some are labled like 168 RD and others say 168 and have a star like emblem next to them. I believe the ones with the symbol are Keihin Jets. I'm not sure which work better, but the Keihin ones seem to quite a bit different. the hole is the same size but is located lower (higher actualy I guess) inside the jet. I noticed the jets that came in the carbs (got them used though) were Keihin. For some reason though both of th eplaces I have been purchasing jets from want to sell me the RD labled ones. I just bought 5 sizes for my PWK's and they were all labled RD. I did nto notice the difference at first though. SO which ones are better? Trying to dial in this Passion 12-port (non stroker). 168's were running tits at ocatillo, but I was mad fat at glamis (gas and oil all over the plugs and could not pull any gear) of course it was also like 110 degrees. I think I'm going to drop to 162's and I'm hoping the RD jets are the right ones since thats what both these places tend to sell me for the PWK's and I already have them in 172, 170, 162 and 160's. the 168's I was using were Keihin. If anyone knows the answer thanks!
  10. I have the night rider theme song on my VX6000. I tend to get ringtones for free online and picture msg them back to my phone. Screw get it now I hate that!
  11. Glamis was great. Perfect weather at night. Unfortunately I was jetted way to rich 172 mains. Went back to the jet's that ran perfect at ocatillo 168 and was still to rich. Went for a ride in the morning and I could barley even make it up old's let alone race up it. Plugs were flooded with fuel. I'm not sure where to go from here. Managed to beat a 450 at night though when the bike was running a little leaner. Inflames raced a 450 that had lot of work done to it (beat all other 450's , yamaha and honda, banshees raptors etc., had suspension piped etc (and it must have had something else also) and they were neck and neck and he was only pulling 3rd gear up the hill. I'm sure after we both get our bikes dialed in we will represent on those thumpers.
  12. Me and Inflames are going to go for a little sand fix this coming Saterday night ( the 4th ) to glamis. We are hoping there will be some racing going off at old's since it's a 3 day weekend. Just wondering if anyone else is interested in meeting up with us. I heard it is supposed to cool down a bit this weekend also, might be able to stay sunday if it's chill.
  13. MC1, the little bottle to 5 gallons and your done, no measuring necessary 100% synthetic too, and decently cheap.
  14. the slanted K&Ns fit much better. Just ziptie your coolant bottle under the nose of your bike. It prevents coolant from splashing out onto your pipes when you locate it there.
  15. I got a nice billet manifold off ebay brand new and HEavily Polished. it also eliminated teh crossover tube. It was about $80. I think I have the guys email who makes them if your interested PM me. the advantage with aftermarket intakes is that you can swap the rubber boots for different carb sizes. and it looks cool
  16. yea make me an offer I need money bad. What do you have to trade? Send me a PM if you want.
  17. SD Rider here! Mostly Glamis and Gordons.
  18. How long is everyone at Pad 3 staying for? I won't be able to make saterday night but I will be heading out sunday night if there will still be someone there. Pad 3 is off Gecko?
  19. If you guys will be there sunday night I can make it for sure. Anyone else besides yamahammer staying out that long? Yamahammer, how are you going to survive the heat in the daytime? I only have a tent and I'm nto even going to bring it. Probably sleep in the back of my truck. I need a sand fix also. And I want to test my new jetting.
  20. Another reason I'm glad I finaly got my ass to RF! your bike was lookin damn good.
  21. thanks guys, I needed some new breakup songs to play Right now my favorites are Offsping - Spare me the details off their new CD (thanks SDD), and System of a Down - The Metro maybe some Slightly Stooppid also especialy there version of (Gun's N Roses--"used to love her") but others as well, and Bloodhound gang - three point one four. Supposed to get my damned helmit back from my ex this weekend but I think I'm going to go to glamis instead, just sounds alot more fun than finding out how well someone is doing without you!
  22. I would get weisco instead of Vitos Cast pistons
  23. personaly I like the Sand Skate Fronts, but they are expensive! I will probably try the new ITP Sandstars for my rears, but I don't just drag, I mostly love blazin through the dunes. Skate II's work great for me right now but now that I'm ported I think I may want a little extra bite although not too much more extreme. Everyone on this forum like Skat Tracks, but personaly I like light weight molded tires like the Skate II's. My pair has lasted 4 years and still going and has great performance too, but again I normally don't go in a straight line unless I'm shooting the hill. Right now I'm also running skat track mohawks in the front, if your just going to go straight they are fine, but for my riding I definately want the Skate version or the ITP version in the front. Sandtires unlimited uses a nice light rubber and lower ply which reduces rotating mass so it helps quite a bit, thats why cheaper coppies just aren't the same, of course, shaving the tires is the lightest, they just don't seem to hold up as well.
  24. So my question to you then is if you think that aliens may have populated the earth somehow, did they just drop people here or did they put all of the animal life on the earth? I'm not trying to back anyone into a corner. I came to religion because the other explanations didn't pan out. Yes I had a religious upbringing but each person is obligated to make their own decisions based on the knowledge they have at the time. I feel though, that to really have an opinoin, ALL other opinions need to be anylized against the thoughts I have right now. I have no attachment to ANY belief to the extent that I will continue to trust it beyond the facts. And I constantly compare what I learn with what I know and adjust as needed. So from what I'm seeing, a person who believes that Aliens MAY have populated the earth is not that different from a person who believes in God. Really it all comes down to the definitions. An alien is something that is not indigenus to earth, has powers beyond what we can fully grasp and a purpose that is not completely understood. Really how is that different from God? I dunno dude, theres alot of aliens here in San Diego, we just bring them back across the boarder. They had trouble building our driveway let alone creating all life
  25. not too much, should be more snappy and smell alot better though
