  1. When I got my PWK's someone had ground down the bolt some. It was enough to clear the arm, (not by much) but some simple grinding took care of it. Only issue you will have is that you will have to rejet the carbs like the stock one (remove the whole bottem) but it's still easy as pie.
  2. it depends what kind of riding you do and how much HP your Banshee is. There is no magic number. I put a 13 on my piped shee for dune riding and I love it, now that's it's ported I'm back to stock, the 15 wasen't getting me up the hills as fast.
  3. I need to update my account, I'm not in San Diego anymroe I'm in LB. So I'd probably mail it anyways or else drive the 2.5 hours on some weekend when they are probably closed lol If someone can hook me up on a deal with TCS please speak up! They contacted me today and I wrote them back. THey recomended I get their stage 3 and not the SCC conversion which they told me was for MX not dune riding. otherwise it sounds liek all these rebuilds are similar.
  4. If your case gasket is in good shape you can probably re-use it. I have re-used mine a few times now without any issues.
  5. I know what you mean I went through 4 bottles last season when I had trouble with my cool head domes. Thats like $100 jsut in coolant! you will hav about 1/6th of a bottle left after you drain all your coolant assuming you have a normal size radiator.
  6. Hey Guys, I thought I would bringup a new diea for all your Trailtech/Lazerstar/Illuminator fans. THere are some new bulbs made by Osram Sylvania. They are the True-Aim-IR series. The IR Series claim their 37 watt bulbs are equivilant to 50 watt standard MR16's so pop 2 of those in and it's about the same as rewinding your stator to run 50 watt MR-16's! I am currently testing some 50 watt IR's they don't seem to list on their website. They only list the uncovered version. I was screwing with the wiring last trip out and jumping with a broken rear shock and I did manage to bust the filaments. however I called Osram back and they assured me that the filiments in the IR bulbs are no weaker than any other MR-16 and said I could have possibly gotta a bad batch (or maybe I was just really hard and them or blew them when I saw screwing around with the wiring.) Anyways I found the 50 watt IR's to be about the same brightness and my 75 watt MR16's that were in there before (they only make 71 watt these days because they were having problems with heat on the 75's) The good thing is that I no longer have to have the bike fully reved out to get to max brightness because they are so much more efficient! I love having 2 10 deg lights on my handlebars they put a very large spot out in front of you and enough spill to see all around. Very impressed with these bulbs for now although I think I need to test them a bt mroe since I did manage to bust them. Anyways I could order a case and get them for a bit cheaper if anyone is interested. My next project will be HID's for frame mounting, but I'll probably keep the IR's on the handlebars. You will probably have to custom order these if your interested so make sure you get the "Covered IR MR-16's" when you order. I would recomend 10 deg projection it's not that tight of a spot due to the size of the reflectors.
  7. Working on a deal on a +4 swingarm right now, if it's not what I expect or if it does not have skidplate moutns I may just get the +2 and fork up the extra $200 I have not been able to get ahold of TCS, Maybe they are too buisy to rebuild my shock.
  8. The manual says al kinds of stupid things. 24-1 for breakin is smart though. Running MC1 here 50 to 1, but I think I need to try H1R and see if I go through so many plugs
  9. Strobing is quite simply really, I could probably design that at a little extra cost. However I think they would be very annoying. Oh and thanks for the compliments.
  10. Hi, I am trying to decide what to get since my rear shock is blown. I was going to get TCS SCC rebuild but have been told that when I get TCS fronts their rear will not impress me. However they seem to be the only reasonable shock for the price. I was also looking into Elka rear$900, Works rear $400, and Axis Rear $800. It seems non of the banshee version are very good for the price meaning that they are not fully adjustable. What differences would I see getting and elka vs axis atermarket rear vs having TCS build me a dual coil rear conversion? Also, what is a good swingarm for Duning with mods in my sig. I'm looking at the Chrome Quicksand +2. I can't decide if I really want +2 or +4 or if I want PC or Chrome. Chrome would look nice and match any color scheme. but how hard is it to maintain on a swingarm?
  11. I would not run this carb. I have heard nothign but horror stories about them from several people. I hear they are made like crap also. My friend had one and said all the screws were crappy flat heads. He also had issues with his single carb leaking. He sent it back to lectron company (whatever they are called) (it was new) and paid well over $100 to have it repared thinking all the issues were gone. After the first ride it was leaking again. HORRIBLE SERVICE! he wasted a ton of cash trying to get it to work. He said it was very poorly made and looked realy cheap anyways. Ended up eating the money he spent and is now using a PWK Airstriker with a Power Jet (electronicaly controlled) I believe.
  12. I really don't want to give away any sectreats just yet, It was a difficult and expensive process to build the first set, the LED's I use are more sensitive and MUCH more expensive than normal LED's In fact I blew 2 of them I had purchased for $40 on the first shot. There are some tricks to keeping the cost at a mroe reasonable level, and by reasonable, I don't mean what most people are willing to pay for a neon, or a strobe.
  13. Oh hey thats my shee, I was wondering why I got so many PM's Anyways I had to wire up a circuit, mounts and heatsinks to run those 4 LED's 2 blue ones and 2 red's for the taillight light....Wasen't cheap either.
  14. my bro has one his airfilter is allways clean(mines not )...but he did have to change his plug(he used my gas and dident know i allready mixed it smoked like my banshee for a month ) great bike for wheelies, but so is the yfz450 281898[/snapback] Don't settle for a 400ex get a 450, close in comparison my ass I have never sceen a 400ex beat anything in a race besides a warrior or 300 ex. While they have enough power to put around everywhere you may end up lagging behind your group and holding them back. Even the Susuki/kawasaki 400 woudl be a much better buy IMO. You do not have to go full throttle on the 450 if you do not want to. but it's there in case you find a good opertunity, and trust me after a couple trips you will find one. 400 ex seems a bit high really I have sceen quite a few roll over, although they usualy are not going fast enough to do any damage. I would not even consider a 400ex for myself but would definately consider a yfz450 (not even a 450r) for my second quad. Maybe even a susuki 400 for a g/f or something but would not step down to a honda unless it was going to be a 250R. That is if they were not going to stop makig banshees in 06. That means I had better start saving so I can purchase a new banshee in 06
  15. It's funny how you found the note Wallrat left for me and I went right by it...We found him at the drags anyways though. Ended up moving our camp over there, cause Ben and I were tired of listening to "drop it like it's hot" untill the sun came up friday night/morning lol. Much nicer over there...Wrongs390cc, I saw you drive by Saterday morning off gecko Rd. You passed our first camp near the loop. Coulden't wave ya down though. TheCabbinBoy, are you talkng about that guy that flipped his DS650 after the 3 wheeler ate it on saterday? We were on the side near the road and he ate it right in front of us. I took some pics of the aftermath. Maybe your in them? Wallrat, about the rangers never coming over to that camp area, guess who showed up right after you left! we were all sitting in chairs out in the sun cause we were too lazy to move after you took the shade home lol. Guess he thought we were all fadded or something, questioning us n shit when we all had seasonal passes and the cleanest camp at glamis...Oh well. We stayed to check out olds (to see what was left there after the rangers cleared everyone out the night before, and ended up riding back to camp in the dark, I got home around 9:30pm, since it's only a couple hour drive from here . Someone left like 40 budlight cans in the sand all smashed up n shit but I blame alot of trash on the rangers making everyone leave so fast. Wind started to blow over some of the chop, but too bad it was at the end of the trip... Anyway,s I'll try to get this video made and post some pics soon. Great trip! Didn't find Yamahammer and Evil though
  16. Guess what I guy's I decided to go too! Only I need to decide who I'm camping with really fast, and if I'm going to gordons or glamis!...Now to clean them damn air filters! If I don't see you, you might see me at the hill saterday night. I'm hard to miss!
  17. X-ring is O-ring it just seals in the greae better, Non-Orings wear out the fastest. Unless you want to change your chain every time you race get an O-ring or X-ring, or at least bu a case saver.
  18. thats crazy that you guys are running 22CC domes and complaining about bottem end...What is your compression? how often have you changed the spark plugs when re-jetting?
  19. I hope to see you all at glamis, If Ii end up going with a differn't group (I like to camp with motorhomes on long long weekends so I can maybe use their batchrooms) you will see me at night shooting the hill...
  20. Oh yea, for the guys runnig stock carbs...are you runing stock needles? I had toomy type needles and I think that may have been part of the problem...Oh well...running well now. I have a feeling the guys I was racing against recently probably had strokers, at least some of them, I know they had alot of other extras that are still stock on my banshee Jim I would have taken your advice from the beginning about the carbs and reeds I just didn't have the money. I'm sure your port is at least better than anything I would have gotten localy. Can't wait to hear about your new designs when I'm ready to trade in on one of your 450 killers , like a 4 or 7 mil stroker.
  21. I have had more problem jetting my passion 12-port (non-stroker) than anyone on the forum even you...It's been a whole year now! However after I ditched the stock carbs got V-force reeds and 33mm PWK's It is running MUCH better. My Carbs do NOT have the stock needles in them. I still do not have it dialed in all the way But I am getting closer. It's is runnign to the point where I can cruze right before the power band and slam the throttle at any minute to jump right into it. The powerband comes on hard, but it is not -light switch like. I have NOT dynoed my bike either. I have been learning about some differences in Jim's work that other builders would critize though. Some things make sense to me, but I do not do porting and unless I had numerous cylinders to play with I will never ever find out. Fattys are a good midrange pipe, maybe thats why I don't notice a dead spot? Anyways, it will take me some more time to tell for sure if I have a flat spot, but I'm starting to like my porting much more now. also you said pilots and different needles do not make a difference...I would have said the same thing about mains when I had my stock carbs. No matter what I put in it had shitty top end, I want from 340-380 and exact same thing happened every time (even though the plugs looked different) there was Lead from the fuel (or so I am told) fowling all over the plugs. And Yes I tried different types of gas. I have recently been runing MC1 50 to 1.
  22. I run 160's on the front and 125's for the read. Sand is soft and it will give, I could probably run 125's on the front too
  23. amazing, I had tons of buildup from 927 running 40 to 1 after only 2 trips!
